What To Expect
Enjoy a breathtaking view from Mt. Fuji and visit the historical mountain resort area of Hakone. Explore Kyoto's 1,200 years of history with a visit to the Tokugawa era shoguns' residence, Nijo Castle, and the gold-leaf covered Golden Pavilion with its exquisite surrounding garden.
Visit Kyoto Imperial Palace and see its elegant interiors. Walk through Sanjusangendo Temple, Japan's longest wooden structure, and browse the specialty shops on the walk up to Kiyomizudera Temple - where you can also enjoy a sweeping view of the city. Admire Heian Jingu Shrine, a partial replica of the Imperial Palace.
Take a deluxe motorcoach to the foot of Mt. Fuji via the expressway, and drive halfway up Japan's highest mountain to enjoy a spectacular view from a height of 2,300 meters. Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch. In the afternoon, visit Hakone for the Komagatake Ropeway and a cruise on Lake Ashi on a pirate boat. Board a shinkansen to the classical city of Kyoto.
Go sightseeing around Kyoto in the morning, visit Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle - noted for its gorgeous interiors, and the Kyoto Imperial Palace* (not available on 23-25 October 2016). Have lunch at Hotel Heian-no Mori before proceeding to Sanjusangendo Temple and its 1001 impressive images of Buddha, the vermilion-hued Heian Jingu Shrine and the Kiyomizudera Temple with its wooden veranda.
Drop-off service to hotels in Kyoto between 17:30 and 18:30.

Pick ups are available from selected Tokyo hotels.
If your hotel is not in the list, you may choose to proceed to the Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal or be picked up at a hotel in the list that is nearest you. Please indicate your choice upon booking.

A holiday surcharge is applicable for days before holidays and the following 2016 departure dates: 10 January, 10 February, 20 March, 28 April to 04 May, 17 July, 10 August, 18 and 21 September, 09 October, 02 and 22 November and 22 December. Please inquire.
Children 5 years old and below are free of charge, provided they sit on an adult's lap. If they need a seat, they will be charged (child rates).
When the driveway up to Mt Fuji's 5th station is closed (in winter and some days in early spring because of heavy snowfall) or if the tour is behind schedule due to traffic, you will only get to go up the highest possible point available at the moment. Tour will not be refunded or canceled.
Komagatake Ropeway or the cruise on Lake Ashi may be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or other operational concerns. If either or both are omitted the following alternatives may be used: Narukawa Art Museum in Hakone, Itchuku Kubota Art Museum, cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, pirate boat on Lake Ashi, Hakone En Aquarium, Hakone Shrine, Hakone Ropeway (Owakudani Valley), or Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway.
We recommend bringing an overcoat or other warm clothing during autumn and winter.
Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August and December. You will visit "Ryoanji Temple" instead.
*The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a National Holiday) and on 28 December 2016 to 4 January 2017. The Imperial Household Agency has announced that Kyoto Imperial Palace will also be closed on 23 to 25 October 2016 due to the Emperor's scheduled visit. As an alternative, this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu (23 and 24 October) and Nishi Hongani (25 October).
Nishi Hogan-ji will be visited instead of Kitano Tenmangu on the following dates: 1/25, 5/25, 10/25.
During the Jidai Festival on October 22, Heian Shrine is closed to the public and will be replaced in the itinerary by Chishaku-in Temple.
During the Gion Festival (July 14 - 16), drop-off service to Karasuma Kyoto Hotel, Nikko Princess Kyoto, and Hotel Monterey Kyoto is unavailable due to traffic restrictions.
The tour will not enter the gardens at Heian Jingu.
Drop-off service can be provided only to/from hotels on the list of pick-up service.
