What To Expect
Enjoy a breathtaking view from Mt. Fuji and visit the historical mountain resort area of Hakone. Explore Kyoto's 1,200 years of history with a visit to the Tokugawa era shogun's residence, Nijo Castle, and the gold-leaf covered Golden Pavilion and its exquisite surrounding garden. Visit Kyoto Imperial Palace and see its elegant interiors. Walk through Sanjusangendo Temple, Japan's longest wooden structure, and browse the specialty shops on the walk up to Kiyomizudera Temple, where you can enjoy a sweeping view of the city. Admire Heian Jingu Shrine, a partial replica of the Imperial Palace.
Depart from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal by motorcoach for Mt. Fuji (travel time a total of 120 minutes).
Transfer to Mt Fuji 5th Station in about 30 minutes. Climb 2,300 meters (7,546 feet!) above sea level for breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding lakes on a clear day. Torii gates, shrines, and souvenir shops decorate this station known as the border between the heavens and the earth. Enjoy a Japanese-style lunch.
In the afternoon, go for a sightseeing cruise on Lake Ashi in Hakone. The crater lake was born from a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3,000 years ago and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji from various angles. Then, catch sweeping views of Mt. Fuji, Lake Ashi, Izu Peninsula, Izu Islands, Hakone National Park, and more while climbing up and down the mountain on Mt Komagatake Ropeway.
Toward the end of the day, proceed to Odawara Station to board the Hikari or Kodama Shinkansen to the classical city of Kyoto (total of 120 to 180 minutes travel time). A transfer may be required at either Nagoya or Shizuoka. Upon arrival at Kyoto Station, you will be dropped off at your hotel. Do some morning sightseeing around the city, visiting Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), Nijo Castle which is noted for its gorgeous interiors, and Kyoto Imperial Palace (not available on 23-25 October 2016). After lunch at Hotel Heian-no Mori Kyoto, go on an excursion to Nara, the first permanent capital of Japan. Visit Todaiji Temple which houses a Great Buddha, colorful Kasuga Taisha Shrine which boasts 3000 lanterns, and Nara Park (Deer Park) where there are many freely-roaming, tame deer.
Return to Kyoto.
You have free time until your departure back to Tokyo. In the early evening, head to Kyoto Station and board the Nozomi Shinkansen back to Tokyo. Upon arrival at Tokyo Station, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Children 5 years old and below are free of charge, provided they sit on an adult's lap. If they need a seat, they will be charged (child rates).
This tour is offered for travelers from overseas only.
When the driveway up to Mt.Fuji's 5th station is closed in winter due to heavy snow, you will go up highest possible point. *Even if you go up to 5th station of Mt. Fuji, it so happens that you cannot see the full view of Mt. Fuji due to the weather conditions . We shall never make any refund and also never cancel the tour operation for this reason.
Hakone Ropeway or Cruise on Lake Ashi may also be omitted or substituted depending on traffic, weather conditions, or for other operational reasons. In this case, you will enjoy one in case of either of them omitted or two for both of them omitted out of following alternatives: Narukawa Museum in Hakone, Hakone Check Point, Cruise on Lake Kawaguchi, Hakone-en Aquarium, Hakone shrine, and Lake Kawaguchi Ropeway.
We recommend bringing an overcoat or other warm clothing during autumn and winter.
Please note that your arrival time in Kyoto is usually around 21:30 but sometimes will be around 22:00-23:00 due to traffic conditions.
On Tuesdays in Jan., Jul., Aug. & Dec., Nijo Castle is closed, thus we will visit "Ryoanji Temple" instead.
*The Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed every Monday (Tuesday if Monday is a National Holiday) and on 28 December 2016 to 4 January 2017. The Imperial Household Agency has announced that Kyoto Imperial Palace will also be closed on 23 to 25 October 2016 due to the Emperor's scheduled visit. As an alternative, this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu (23 and 24 October) and Nishi Hongani (25 October).
You are required to fill out the form (your name, sex, age, nationality), when you enter "Kyoto Imperial Palace."
Chishaku Temple will be visited when Heian Jingu Shrine is closed to Jidai Festival on October 22nd. If the festival is postponed, changes in the itinerary may also be postponed.
On Jan 25, May 25, and August 25, in substitution of Kitano Tenmangu, the tour visits Nishi Honganji.
