What To Expect
Explore the capitals of the Baltic nations! Stroll through the streets of the largest baroque old town in Europe at Vilnius, admire the beautiful art-nouveau decorating Riga's buildings and enjoy Tallinn's mix of the modern and the medieval in this 8-day tour.
Day 1 - Arrival in Vilnius
For the first day of the tour, we will have the check-in into your hotel and the welcome meeting for the tour's participants.
Day 2 - Vilnius
We will start off with a panoramic tour of Vilnius which is known for the more than 1,200 medieval buildings and 48 churches within the city. We will then continue to a walking tour of the lovely baroque Old Town! Get to see the grandiose Vilnius Cathedral, the Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, the Gothic church of St. Anne, the Old University and the Gates of Dawn. In the afternoon you can join in an optional trip to Trakai - Lithuania's medieval capital. In the evening you could also enjoy an optional folklore dinner at Restaurant Belmontas.
Day 3 - Vilnius-Riga
Before we head for Riga, we will make a stop to visit the legendary Hills of Crosses. The crosses are an expression of the spirituality of Lithuanians and is an awe-inspiring sight to see. We will then go back in time to the 18th-century as we visit the opulent Rundale Palace. Feel like royalty as you stroll around the former summer home of the Duke of Courland. We will then head on to Riga via the rolling hills of Southern Latvia.
Day 4 - Riga
In the morning, you can take an optional tour to the Gauja National Park and the town of Sigulda where you can hear about the medieval legend of the Rose of Turaida and see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle. In the afternoon, you can visit the Ethnographic Open Air Museum where you can experience how the ancient Latvians lived. At the evening you can choose to attend an organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.
Day 5 - Riga
We will start off the day with a walking tour of Riga's Old Town. Stroll around the wandering alleyways and cobbled streets of the Old Town as you see Riga Castle, the magnificent Dome Cathedral, the Three Brothers and more. In the afternoon, you are given the option to visit the seaside resort town of Jurmala. Enjoy the sandy beaches and admire the romantic wooden houses of the Baltic's French Riviera! In the evening, you can have a Latvian dinner at Restaurant La Boheme.
Day 6 - Riga-Tallinn
We will enter Estonia via the coastal highway and head on to the resort town of Parnu, Estonia's summer capital. After a tour of the town we will head on to Tallinn via the rugged beauty and lush forests of North Estonia.
Day 7 - Tallinn
See how Tallinn mixes medieval charm with modern life! Start the day with a sightseeing tour of the city which will take you to the medieval city walls, Toompea Castle, the oldest church in Estonia - Dome Church, the Old Town Hall and more. In the afternoon, you have the option to join in an excursion to Kadriorg Park and a visit to the award-winning Kumu art museum. In the evening, have an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Peppersack.
