What To Expect
Start your day with a walk on the Ochre Trail of Luberon, in Roussillon. You will marvel at this mineral landscape, made of colorful cliffs and sand hillocks, with mysterious shades ranging from yellow to violet.
Head to Gordes, one of the most beautiful and captivating villages in France. Built on top of a hill, you will enjoy a panoramic view of the surroundings, including the stone houses with terracotta roofs and the impressive castle of Gordes.
Then, you'll see Senanque Abbey. This Cistercian Monastery from the 12th century is surrounded by lavender fields. The lavender is harvested by the monks themselves to produce essential oil and other products.
After lunch in a typical restaurant with local wines, you'll have a guided tour of the Confiserie du Roi René, and taste artisanal Calissons d'Aix. Created in 1920 in Aix-en-Provence by a master nougatier, the traditional candy store is now leader in "proven?cal" high quality sweets and exports in 24 countries. The use of great local products is the key of their delicious recipes: almond, honey, thyme, lavender, candied fruit...
