What To Expect
After meeting with your guide, come aboard a comfortable, air-conditioned luxurious minivan and get to your destination in about 75 minutes. Sit back, relax and take in the views of the Dutch landscape along the way.
Upon arrival in Kinderdijk, follow your guide through the Visitors' Centre Wisboom Pumping Station. There, you can enjoy a small exhibition and watch on six screens a film about the Kinderdijk windmill area, before getting the chance to explore it for real! Depending on how busy it is, you may even visit a working windmill from the inside! The windmill complex of Kinderdijk was added to the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage list in 1997, thanks to its unique character: the polder area, with its dykes, mills and pumping stations, is the proof of human inventiveness in reclaiming and protecting the land.
After a 90 minute visit, get back aboard the minivan and head to The Hague, the third largest city of the Netherlands, after Amsterdam and Rotterdam. This powerful city is also the seat of the Dutch government, as well as the home of the Dutch royal family.
Upon arrival in The Hague, you will enjoy a tour from your minivan to see all of its highlights, such as the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, foreign embassies, the Binnenhof (the Dutch Parliament). See the Peace Palace - which houses the International Court of Justice, the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Hague Academy of International Law and the Library, as well as a variety of stunning Royal Palaces, and much more.
Stop for lunch, before enjoying a visit to the Mauritshuis - a small but fantastic Art Museum, recently renovated and located in the heart of The Hague. It features the best Dutch paintings from the Golden Age, from famous artists including Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Andy Warhol, among others.
Return to Amsterdam in the late afternoon with a head full of memories!
