What To Expect
First we will visit the artisan town of Luque, the location of rustic factories for handmade instruments and jewelry in gold and silver made in a filigree carving. We will also visit the charming Lake Ypacarai and the city of Aregua, an old summer town that maintains an early 20th century flavor. There are pottery shops in the city, as well as artisan centers that exhibit their crafts throughout the year.
Later, we will visit the city of Caacupe, where the Virgin of Caacupe, Patroness of all Paraguayans is located. Next is San Bernardino, on the shores of Lake Ypacarai, a summer resort. Before returning to Asuncion, we will stop by Itaugua. This town is well known for the Nanduti, a handmade lace designed to look like spider webs.
