If you're an experienced diver looking to challenge or polish your skills, Nusa Penida's cool and startingly clear waters and sea floor littered with gorgeous corals, prolific fish, turtles, and reef sharks is just the place for you.
At Manta Point, see dramatic limestone cliffs that descend straight into the ocean. This swell can sometimes make entry impossible by mid-morning. The dive will be worth it though - aside from the Manta ray, you will also be greeted by other pelagics such as tuna and tiger mackerel that come to the area to feed. No need to worry about the Manta rays, they are typically 2 to 4 meters wide but are harmless plankton-eaters.
Discover the hard coral reef and white sand base covered with anemones and soft corals at Crystal Bay. Here you will find marine life including angelfish, sweetlips, giant frog fish and many Moorish idols.
To the north of the Bay, we come to a bat cave. Depending on conditions, you may enter the cave from underwater and surface inside, which is open to the sky. Watch out for the bats that sleep overhead. Occasionally, 2 reef sharks that are said to come to the cave, but don't worry though, they leave when you arrive! Continue on along the very deep wall where lobsters can be found living near the hard corals.
