Discover unusual and exciting sites just outside Tulamben Bay! At the lesser known diving locations in the Tulamben area, you will find small, easy-to-photograph critters as well as a wide variety of interesting sea creatures. For this reason, the area is frequented by underwater photographers and muck-divers, but that doesn't mean regular divers can't enjoy diving here! The Tulamben Area offers a variety of conditions and types of diving, so you are sure to find something to do. The conditions in the Tulamben Area are overall predictable and suitable for every level of certification.
Among the sites in the Tulamben area, Seraya Slope is the most popular. Just five minutes away from the Bay, it is an "in" location for macro divers and photographers. There is no shortage of muck sites and reef life here. Boxer crabs lurk the site's black sand slope (although you have a slim chance of seeing them out in the open when there are goatfish around!). Other creatures you might see include rare nudibranchs, Barrel sponges with crinoids, Stonefish, anglerfish, Ghostpipe fish, a variety of Cowrie shells, plus several types of shrimp. Visibility around here is from 15 to 25 meters, and the currents, if any, are mild. A depth of an average of 20 meters is just right for taking photos of the stunning marine species inhabiting the area.
If you do not want dive but want to accompany your group to the site, you may opt to choose the Non-Divers option. This option has the same inclusions as the Certified Driver except it will not be joining the diving part of the tour. Instead you will have free use of snorkeling gear so you may snorkel around the area.
After a day in the waters, transfer back to your hotel, arriving at around 17:00.
For certified divers, a minimum Open Water certification is required to take this trip. Children can join as long as they are certified Junior Open Water divers. Diving certification card and logbook must be presented to dive staff on the first day of diving.
For Non-Divers, knowing how to swim is required. Due to strict PADI regulations, children must be at least exactly 10 years old to join (9 years 11 months not allowed).
