Once a vast rice field on the edge of the town, Lumphini Park (named after Buddha’s birthplace in Nepal) has become the city’s most famous park. Here you can paddle along the large artificial lake, jog or walk around, or shop to your heart’s content at the Suan Lum night bazaar, an authentic Thai market selling reasonably priced wares and artifacts.
