Spend the morning at the unique Dalí museum in Figueres and finish the day on his beloved Costa Brava, visiting his home in Port Lligat and the magnificent Cap de Creus.
We depart from Barcelona at 08:30 am and set out for Figueres, the birthplace of Dalí and home to the world famous Dalí Museum-Theatre. Here you will be able to explore where he was born on Monturiol Street and visit the museum.
You will find a museum like none other. Dalí wanted visitors to see his massive collection as a 'whole' work, and for this reason he wanted no catalogues and refused to have his works placed in chronological or subject order. Step inside Dalí's world of fantasy mixed with architecture mixed with paintings and sculptures. It's a complete surrealistic experience.
After our morning visit inside the mind of Dalí, we head for the beautiful coastal village of Cadaqués.
Famous for its white washed Mediterranean houses, narrow shady streets, and sandy bay, this is one of the most picturesque villages on the Costa Brava.
But what really stands out for many people is the dramatic drive there, which offers some of the best views in the whole of Catalunya.
For lunch, you can enjoy local seafood specialities in one of the numerous terraces facing the Mediterranean, or grab a sandwich and simply relax and appreciate why this place inspired so many artists.
After lunch we will travel just a few minutes up the coast to the even smaller village of Port Lligat, the place where Dalí sought the peace and quiet that truly inspired him.
When the artist met the love of his life, Gala, he broke away from his parents and bought a fishermen's hut there.
It was here that Dalí lived from 1930 onwards, gradually altering and enlarging the original dwelling he bought there and which shared the same name as the bay.
The house of Port Lligat must be considered Dalí's only true home. It was in this studio that he painted the majority of his great works. Every detail of the house bears his imprint, and the house still contains his original furniture and decoration.
Finally, we will move on to Cap de Creus, the most easterly point of mainland Spain and one of the most starkly beautiful coastal landscapes in the whole of the country.
If you like the Costa Brava and want to see more, then have a look at our Girona and Costa Brava Day Tour.
We will leave at around 17:00 and arrive back in Barcelona at around 19:00.

Perfect experience for Dali lovers. Steven, our guide (and driver), was great, knowledgable and friendly (with fine sence of humor), kept adults and kids amused throughout the day. Figueras, Port Lligat and Cadacas are equaly interesting to visit. This is intense tour, so you better make sure to take a good rest previous day. All in all, five star small group tour.

It was a really enjoyable day right from the start of the tour till the very end. The Tour guide 'Cam' with his immense ...knowledge and fun filled nature did make it really interesting and immersing. Moving around with a very nice group of people who were part of the tour made it more enjoyable. Really good to know the history and achievements of Dali and also the wonderful places we visited. The tour was very well organised and although we faced some traffic due to the Easter weekend it was overall very well conducted. more
We did the full day tour of the Dali Theatre and Museum, Cadaques, and Port Lligat. Our guide, Laura, was extremely friendly, and... knowledgeable about the artist, and the history surrounding the tour. It is a long tour, and the bus ride is about 2 hours or so both ways, but the bus is very comfortable, and the ride is pleasant. On the trip back Laura gave us a lot of information on Dali, and showed us a film about him, which was a nice way to spend the trip. more

We had Lydia as guide, it was a fairly long journey to the museum but it passed quickly thanks to Lydia. When we arrived the queu...e wasn't big but we bypassed it anyway, which was good. Lydia has a very good knowledge of Dali and gave a good introduction. The museum was fabulous. The trip to Port Ligat was well very enjoyable and the visit to Dali's house at Cadaques is a must. If you have time have a look at the church at Cadaques. I think we were very lucky to have Lydia as guide. Her English is impeccable and the most important thing, she is a very good driver and we all felt very comfortable throughout the whole journey. Thankyou very much, Lydia! more
