What To Expect
Your journey begins at Puerto Panuelo, a lake harbor located 25 km outside town, opposite to Hotel Llao Llao. There we will board our boat for a half-an hour sail across the beautiful Lake Nahuel Huapi to Puerto Anchorena, in Victoria Island.
Take a guided walk into the wild woods from Puerto Anchorena or enjoy some free time to hike at your own pace on one of the many trails. The most outstanding hikes are the former National Nursery Trail, the Antonio Pargade Interpretation Trail, Gross Harvour, Old Settlement, Cave Paintings, Playa del Toro, and the Balcony on Cerro Bella Vista, among others. You can't go wrong when every corner of the island is host to its own variety of magnificent views, rich history and impressive natural surroundings that make the walks really enjoyable.
An interesting sector of the Myrtle Foresthosts a beautiful wooden cottage built deep inside. This wooden house is a classic sight and has been photographed countless times by visitors. This sector of the forest is said to have been visited by the famous American cartoonist and film maker Walt Disney who was inspired by the amazing landscape to create the film Bambi. You're invited to enter the cottage for a tea and snack or to purchase handicrafts and souvenirs.
Enjoy a scenic boat ride back to Puerto Pañuelo after which you'll be droped off at your hotel if the option including transfers is selected.
