What To Expect
It's an adventure to roam the old streets of Beijing, but it becomes all the more exciting by rickshaw. With an expert tour guide, get a taste of the old life in the city as you travel through its old and narrow streets and pass by some of its well-known landmarks.
Visit the famous Bell and Drum Towers. Though originally used as musical instrument in ancient China, these two towers continued to function as the official timepiece of Beijing until 1924. Climb up the Drum Tower (Gu Lou) to watch the drum show and see the Bell Tower (Zhou Lou) up-close, a brick and stone made building.
Then, experience the more authentic parts of the city at one of its many hutongs or small windy alleyways between the city's main boulevard. Strolling around the area, you'll surely have a wonderful glimpse into the old way of life in Beijing and learn more about its rich culture and traditions. You will also see the residential areas and stop for a chat with a Chinese family.
Before the tour ends, swing by a local tea house and enjoy some delicious refreshments.
