This Berlin tour takes you on a journey through the city's amazing history, uncovering some of its most iconic buildings and other sites of historic significance. With old maps, cards and pictures from our guide, this experience is like no other Berlin tour you will ever experience!

Get set to be taken on a stroll through the city's colorful history and unique modern culture. Starting off at the very heart of Berlin's new government quarter, we shall meet our local guide in front of the Reichstag at the Big German Flag in front of the main entrance, hearing from him afterwards some amazing story about this world-renowned building. We'll get up close and personal to some of the original sites of the apocalyptic Battle of Berlin in 1945, which put an end to the horrors of Nazi Germany.

Of course times have changed greatly in Germany, and Berlin is no exception. While strolling through the city's streets, we'll explore the political upheavals that have occurred over the decades and learn something about modern Berlin culture. Our guides have their own pictures, original documents, as well as old and new maps, which make the city's past just as memorable and alive as it was during the time. Then we'll also hear about some countless historic events, modern places and landmarks that have made Berlin what it is today. Brandenburg Gate and the beautiful Pariser Platz are a couple of the famous landmarks we shall see on this adventure.

Next, we'll walk through the Memorial dedicated to the massacred Jews of Europe, a strong emotional expression of Germany dealing with the holocaust and the troubled aspects of its aftermath. Learn more about one of history's most notorious tyrants, Adolf Hitler, when we localize the almost forgotten site of his bunker, where he hid out during the final battle of World War II.

Step back in time as we pass by former Nazi Ministries, the "Topography of Terror," and Checkpoint Charlie. Then, you will hear stories of Cold War, GDR fugitives and daily life in the divided Germany, including a stop at "The Wall." We'll visit the site where the young Peter Fechter was murdered by border guards in 1961, continuing to what is now widely regarded as the most beautiful place of Berlin: Gendarmenmarkt. Then we'll head to some of Berlin's Grand Boulevards, including Friedrichstrasse and Unter den Linden, the historic location where the infamous book burning of 1933 took place. Then afterwards, we'll go to the famous Humboldt University.

The tour will end in a part of the city considered as a fantastic historical and cultural melting pot - where we'll see some of the world's famous museums, beautiful old churches, and hidden gems to uncover. On Saturdays there is even a quirky flea market - good fun and typical for Berlin!

On our walk we'll pass one of Berlin's oldest chocolate makers, where the city's most iconic buildings are rebuilt in chocolate. It's a sight to behold - and of course a delicious treat to savor! But be sure to discover, enjoy and discuss Berlin with us on this unique Berlin tour adventure!

Our tour guide was absolutely excellent - so knowledgeable, and really gave us an insight into Berlin and the people that live there. And the walk was just the right amount of time and places - especially the chocolate store was a great place to stop in the cold (brrrr).
