What To Expect
Revisit the era when the Berlin Wall divided the city through the exhibitions of Yadegar Asisi at the Panorama.
Standing at 15 meters high and 60 meters wide, visitors can view the panorama from a 4 meter platform.
Marvel at the circular picture that depicts the Berlin Wall with a view from the Kreuzberg in the west to the area described as "Mitte" or the central borough in the eastern part of the city. The artwork interprets the everyday lives of the people in the 1980's: painting graffiti on the wall, moving from house to house, coming out of their local bar after a heavy drinking session and eating at an outdoor snack place.
In the anteroom of the panorama, images and a film documentary showcase the lives of the people during this time. Photographs from an eye-witness during the fall of the wall in 1989 have since been installed to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
At the end of your visit, you are invited to record your thoughts on the theme of freedom at an installation.
