Itinerary / Activity Schedule

Checkpoint Charlie

The famous border crossing between East Berlin and West Berlin for Allied forces and foreigners is now an outdoor exhibit detailing the Cold War.

Luftwaffe Ministry

The massive former headquarters building of the Nazi Luftwaffe Ministry still stands and is now the main building of Germany's Finance Ministry.

Brandenburg Gate

Arguably Germany's most famous monument, the Brandenburg Gate served as a backdrop for many of Berlin's most important events: Napoleon's march into Berlin, the division of Berlin during the Cold War, famous speeches (Reagan) and concerts (Hasselhof!), and much more.

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe

This recently-finished memorial is powerful to all who visit. Its 2711 blocks of various heights sit on undulating ground to give those walking through it a sense of solace and solitude.

Directly in front of the main building and library of Germany's most prestigious university, this was the site of the Nazi's infamous book-burning on May 10, 1933.

Museum Island

This is home to five of Berlin's most famous museums, notably the Pergamon Museum and the Egyptian Museum (now housed in the Altes Museum).

Berlin Wall

See one of the last remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, now under historical protection, as we discussed why it was built and how it fell.

Potsdamer Platz

The new "downtown" of Berlin with unparalleled modern architecture.

Hitler's Bunker

Stand above Hitler's bunker as we recount the final days of the Third Reich and Hitler's bizarre demise.

Germany's famous parliament building stood just in front of the Wall in West Berlin, a testament that the final chapters of Berlin's 20th Century had yet to be written. Germany moved it's federal government back to Berlin in 1999.

See one of the last remaining watchtowers in the Berlin Wall no-man's-land isolating West Berlin within East Germany.

Topography of Terror

This former headquarters of the infamous Nazi 'Gestapo' and SS is now a free museum detailing interrogations by the Nazis that took place here.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if it rains?

The tours run rain or shine. The tours in the rain can be a different kind of fun and an even more fun memory! The guides try their best to take cover but sometimes you will be exposed to the elements. Pocket-sized rain ponchos are for sale in the shop and it is highly recommend that you purchase one before the tour. If you don’t use it, the shop will buy it back from you - it's a bit of a rain insurance policy!

Do we go inside the Berlin museums and monuments?

The tour guides cannot enter the Berlin museums and monuments. German Law restricts museum guides to their authorized officials. Plus, some people would want to spend only ten minutes in the museum while others would prefer 3 hours. Your guide, and the shop staff, will be happy to show you exactly how to go back to any sites you would like to explore further or visit the interior. This applies to all bike and segway tours except Gardens and Palaces of Potsdam Bike Tour from Berlin. This tour includes entrance tickets and audio-guide of Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam.

What is a Segway?

The SegwayTM Human Transporter is the first of its kind-a self-balancing, personal transportation device designed to go anywhere people do. Easy to use and operate, the two-wheeled Segway sports high-tech gyroscopes that automatically respond to your body’s movements, “sensing” when it should speed up and slow down.

You stand on a small platform between left and right wheels as you hold onto handlebars at a comfortable waist height. The Segway handles the balancing for you, so that you’re always upright as you glide through any environment.

You may also visit Segway LLC’s site for more detailed info.

Is there a weight limit of minimum age for the Berlin Segway Tour: All-In-One City Sightseeing Tour?

There is a weight limit of 250 lbs. (117 kilograms) to ride Segways. All participants must also be at least 15 years old and possess at least a moped or auto drivers license.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants required?

No minimum number for tours to go out! The tours run with just one participant. We believe your vacation is too valuable to waste on minimum tour participant requirements. Regarding maximums, we do of course only have a limited number of machines. Also, for safety and group comfort reasons groups are split if more than 8 participants.

Are the Segways safe for children or people with disabilities?

Although riding a Segway is relatively easy to do and learn, we do require that all riders be at least 15 years of age and possess a moped or auto license. Each of our tours begins with a 30-minute orientation session. You will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable.

The segwag tour of Berlin was fantastic, informative and fun. A must for any visit.

This is a Fantastic & Fun way to experience Berlin's principle landmarks. A wonderful experience ad one not to be missed.... The guide, Toby was friendly and knowledgable with a good sense of humour. The tour includes a safety briefing and instruction for first time Segway enthusiasts. Highly recommended. Glenn & Tony. UK more

Knowledgable and friendly guide. Saftey of paramount importance. Excellent unhurried tour content. A thrilling experience. Would d...o it all over again. more

Wonderful tour with a great and lovely personal guide

It rained a bit, but we had fun anyway!
Before the tour started, it took a whole thirty minutes for a detailed explanation ...
on how to handle the segway, along with practice time. It was my first time riding a segway, and since I'm not exactly the athletic type, I didn't have much confidence. But once I relaxed, I was able to start.
For lunch, we had some German dishes at a restaurant where you could see the Holocaust Memorial. It was cheap, but it was packed to the brim. The female guide was friendly the whole time and took a bunch of pictures for me. We had a fun conversation with the other people who went along (a couple from London).
I think if the weather was nicer, we would have even more fun. If I have a chance to do it in a different city, I definitely will!

It was the most popular activity on TripAdvisor for Berlin, so we decided to book it. It was much more fun than expected. I rather... don't have a confidence in my athletic ability, but I was able to ride it soon after I started. There is one guide with 6 people, so we had plenty of time to practice in advance.
This tour is the best one in the optional tours I have ever joined. There was a break for a snack and toilet on the way. They gave detailed explanations stopping at each spot, and there was a plenty of time for taking pictures.
The speed was faster then I thought, It was a good feeling and a great way to see the lovely Berlin.
After the tour finished, the guides gave us more advice on sightseeing, so I recommend to take this tour at the beginning of your stay. It's an experience no to miss when you are in Berlin.

Me and my wife went on this tour in May 2014.
Berlin is a vast city and it takes a lot of time to walk around by your own. ...
But if you ride Segway, it takes only half a day to visit all the main spots. From this point of view, I strongly recommend this.
We have ridden on Segway in several places, so it wasn't very difficult for us. If you are a beginner, there will be a 30 minutes training, so you don't have to worry about it. It's important to practice, because you will ride it on public roads.

I think segway is the best way to see Berlin.
You can drive and look around, and if you like some place on the way, you can...
ask the guide to make a short stop to take pictures.
The guide was very nice.
Meeting place was very easy to find.
There was a lot of restaurants nearby, so you can easily find a place for lunch after the tour.
It was really great!!! I want to do it again!!!

Hi all The segway tour is a great way to get to know Berlin and its top attractions. It is also fun and the initial training was q...uickly absorbed so that after a few minutes we felt we were experts. We would recommend the tour as a fun novel way to introduce yourself to Berlin and have fun at the same time. more

We have been on segway tours in America and loved them so we thought we would take out grown up kids on a 4 hour tour. The route ok but the 2 tour guides did not have enough knowledge to talk around the subject matter/building or event and often left us to read the info boards ourselves. Shame. more
