Frequently Asked Questions
Are we allowed to bring food and drinks?
Yes, there is a cooler already on board to help keep your food and drinks cold. However, glass containers are not allowed and bananas are considered bad luck on Hawaiian fishing vessels.
Are we allowed to keep any fish we catch?
On a private charter you can keep whole fish and the boat will clean it for a small fee. On shared charters, all fish are shared between participants of the whole charter. The Bite Me Fish Market Bar and Grill will even cook your catch for half their market price.
Can we just throw our fish back if we are just fishing for fun?
Catch and release is allowed on private charters only.
Do I need any prior experience to participate in this activity?
No experience is required!
How far in advance should I book this activity?
We recommend booking at least 1-2 weeks in advance. If you have very specific schedule requirements and are not flexible, please book sooner. Last minute availability is often possible, but limited.
What kind of boat will be used?
The "Bite Me" IV is a 38 foot Hatteras which has a professional Captain and crew and is equipped with tournament ready rods and reels! Also, as an added security, all passengers are outfitted with personal flotation devices before ever setting foot on board.

We had a great time got four bites but that's fishing crew was fun I would go again
enjoyed the fishing trip even though only caught one skipjack tuna, the crew were very nice and did their best to catch some fish
Went out with 13 year old son on this boat and ended up with multiple reasons to complain. First let me say that the boat itsel...f is very nice and my son thought it was really cool. The problems were with the crew. The first thing that happened is we left late because the captain was late getting to the boat. All passengers were standing around for over 30 minutes while we waited for the captain to finally show up. This probably wouldn't have been the end of the world if we would have just stayed out on the water a little later but we actually ended up coming back a little bit early. Overall I paid for a trip and got shorted between 20-40 minutes. Both crew memebers smoked multiple times without even asking the passengers if they minded. With a kid on the boat this seems like it should have happened. After being out on the water for an hour or so we arrived in an area that had a bunch of other boats. The captain had the deckhand put small rods out and we began catching 1 fish every 10-15 minutes. In an attempt to be polite I let the other 5 passengers catch a fish and chose to go last. After the 5th fish was caught the captain ask the deck hand "how many was that?" and recieved the relpy "that was five, we have one more". The captain then made the decision to leave this area to supposedly look for bigger fish. This was aggravating because I chose to let every one else catch theirs due to the fact the spot was producing consistenly. At the rate it was going it would have taken 10-15 minutes for me to catch my fish. The captains choice to supposedly go look for bigger fish was really just him starting to motor back towards the island to end the trip. We never saw any other fish and arrived back at the dock early. more
