Kayak along the beautiful Big Island sea cliffs, over underwater lava tubes and into sea caves and go snorkeling among tropical reef fish at Keauhou Bay!
After you are outfitted with a stable tandem or solo kayak, follow your experienced guide into the calm waters of Keauhou Bay! Paddle along sea cliffs into a spectacular sea cave and then park your kayak at a calm cove for some free time to snorkel and swim. An abundance of marine life call this area their home, and you may even see Sea Turtles or Spinner Dolphins! Enjoy light snacks and cold drinks during your stop at the cove and be sure to explore the sparkling tide pools or even jump from the 12-25 foot cliffs into the rejuvenating waters below!
A beautiful 3 mile kayak with an amazing snorkeling experience! My advice- wear sunscreen even if it doesn’t feel like it’s sunny...Ouch! Lesson learned. For the dare devil jump off a 30 ft cliff into the gorgeous blue waters. For the pansies jump off a 3 ft mini cliff!! Lol. Wonderful personalized experience. Would highly recommend! Brian was a lot of fun!

I was at first a little hesitant to do this activity because I thought that I wasnt going to enjoy it very much but it ended up be...ing me and my boyfriend's faviorite activity that we did! This activity is definitly worth the money that you pay. Not only do you kayak in beautiful clear water, but you get to jump off a 30 ft rock, go into a cave, and snorkel. What more can you ask for??? Everything about this activity was fun and I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Hawaii. Now that I know how much fun kayaking is I plan on doing it in the future. This is a must do!! more

My wife did the early morning 3.5 hour trip and we loved it. This was the first time that me and my wife had ever kayaked, the tou...r guides show you how to do everything from balancing your kayak to getting in and out of your kayak in the open ocean. We seen a pod of dolphins on the way out of the bay, that was great, then we followed the shore line. at one point we were able to paddle into a small cave with a blow hole, and then several members of the tour jumped off the cliff over the cave. It was a bit too high for us so we watched. But we were able to paddle out before the rest with one guide and when we were just around the corner the same pod of dolphins swam under and by us. Several of the dolphins were within touching distance of our kayak. My wife was so in awe she could barely get the camera out! The snacks were yummy and the guides wonderful!. We were able to wander and snorkel at a second sight that had a cove and a shorter cliff that we jumped off! If you can take t more
all I can say about this tour is "wow" if you have never ever paddled in a kayak befor no problem with on tour your guid...es will teach you how get in and balance yourself, how to hold your paddle, how to paddle toeghter, how to get in and out of your kayak in open water even if you have never done it before because that person was me. My wife and I had the best time toeghter trying to see everything thats going on around you. After they show you how to do everything you just start paddiling out of the bay with your guides along the coast line. Just as we rounded the corner a pod of dolphins swaw by us they were about 100 yrds away from us but what a treat. We stoped for a short break and they showed us how to get in and out of the kayak in the open ocean, then we went cliff to the blow hole paddled in and out of the cave jumped off the cliff then went around to another bay to have lunch and snorkle. Well all I can say we were the first around the corner with our guide and a pod of dol more
This was one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide, Mikey, was fantastic - thanks!
Two Virginians loved this excursion! We're so glad that we rode on a tandem kayak so we could switch on paddling. You need ...to be somewhat physically fit so you can keep up with everyone. We were soo lucky to see an off-season whale, as well as a pod of dolphins. I know it's up to mother nature to see these incredible creatures, but i would have still enjoyed the tour without seeing them. Highly recommended. more
Wow. It was so much fun!!! I've never been in a sea cave before, so it was definately one of the trips I never forget. Tha...nk you for the great time! more
Being residents of Hawaii, and being born and raised on the Big Island did not prevent me from finding this an awesome adventure!!... Loved it, I recommended that my friends and family take this tour as well. more
A group of eight of us, my wife and I, our 9 year old daughters, my sister and her husband, and my brother and his wife, went kaya...king for the first time with Ocean Safari Kayaks, and we all agreed that is was one of the best activities of our whole trip. The staff, Mikey and Debbie, was very friendly, informative, and supportive and the locations we visited were awesome. Although not as leisurely as going on a snorkeling trip with a power boat or raft company, I'd say this trip gives you more of a sense of adventure. We were able to check out the Dragon's Throat Sea Cave, which was a bit intimidating, but with their guidance, were able to successfully enter. Then, came the snorkeling which was awesome, and most importantly the cliff dive. That is one experience I may never stop talking about. My brother, brother in law, and I all took the plunge, not to mention being upstaged by Mikey doing a spectacular backflip off the cliff. Anyway, I could go on and on about this, but its d more
This trip was long and somewhat strenuous. The sea cave was a bit of a let down. It was not as cool as it looked online. The sn...orkling was great and the tour guides definately knew there stuff. I would not reccomend this trip for a first time kayaker. The water was a little ruff on the way back which made it a long row. For the dare devils there was a 15 foot cliff to jump off. They also provided snacks and juices including fresh pineapple. Overal we had a great time. more

I was in Hawaii for a week and did a number of activities including shark cage swim, swimming with dolphins, Polynesian magic show..., manta ray dive, 2-tank scuba dive, and the Polynesian cultural center, and this was my favorite of all of them. Even better...it was the least expensive!!! The snorkeling left something to be desired, but the kayaking itself and the cliff jump more than made up for that! I HIGHLY recommend this activity! Thanks Johnny, Kevin, and Jasmine! more

This has truely been voted the most fun adventure by each member of our family!
Our guides were great. Activities in and out of the kayaks was always up to the individual. Care was taken to explain and show h...ow to do things. The snorkeling was great and the cliff jump (optional for everyone) was an great from the Top of the World. Excellent snacks after our trip!! more
The kayaking was not as tiring as I anticipated. My kids' highlight of the tour was the 25ft cliff jump (I only jumped the 10... ft cliff). They can't stop talking about it; truly awesome. We snorkeled on our way back from the caves. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again. more
We did the Kayak , Snorkel and Sea Cave................it was wonderful! The guides were very nice and the snacks were very nice.... I loved the whole thing!! I am a bit afraid of the Ocean so I only snorkled a little and then sat up on the rocks which was very relaxing and so beautiful!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!! more

This is a great trip and a REAL adventure. This is also a great value. The kayaking on the ocean is fun but can be physically de...manding. We are in decent shape but we were pretty tired at the end of the trip. Good snorkling and cliff jumping. The guide is informative and competent. more

Jasmine and Chris were the best. They made it all good. The only bad thing to say was that it was too short.
My husband and I recently went on a kayaking adventure and absolutely loved it!! The waters were sooo beautiful and the locations ...we visited were amazing! I even jumped off a 22ft cliff into the water!! The snorkeling was amazing and the two tour guides were simply wonderful - very experienced and helpful! This was really one of my favorite aspects of our trip. more
As a group of 5, ranging in age from 14-66,experienced and non-experienced kayakers, we had a truly phenomenal time. The expertise ...and knowledge of our guides Brett and Kevin created a unique and memorable experience for all. This is an activity which we would definitely repeat on a future visit.Water shoes and a good underwater camera are a must! more
We had a wonderful time on our Keauhou Sea Cave Kayak Adventure. Our main guide, Kevin, was wonderful. He was very concerned abo...ut our safety and enjoyment of the outing. We were able to kayak into a large sea cave before paddling over to our snorkeling destination. Many were adventurous and jumped off the 25 foot high cliff into the water, including my husband! One of our daughters and I snorkeled away from the main group a bit and I saw a few hundred yellow tang - more than I've ever seen before! There were many other kinds of fish there as well as Hawaii's state fish. Our oldest daughter had her snorkeling cut short when she got stung by a small jelly fish on the foot, as did one or two others in our tour, but that's a risk when in the ocean. Kevin and another Ocean Safari staff member who was there with his own tour both checked on our daughter after getting her back in the kayak. We had some snacks on the rocks near the tide pools before heading back to the kayaks for the more

This was an awesome experience for my wife and I on our honeymoon. It was great exercise and you get to see Hawaii from a whole d...ifferent perspective. The snorkeling was amazing and we even were able to jump off some cliffs into the water. Mike, the tour leader, was awesome and extremely nice. We would recommend this to anyone! more
This was one of the highlights of our trip to the Big Island! Our guides, Kevin and Noni, were wonderful with tidbits of history ...about the island! The kayaking was so much fun as well as the snorkeling. They fed the fish so we could see more fish as we were snorkeling. Kevin demonstrated the jumping off the cliff into the ocean and my daughter followed! It is well worth the reasonable fee for a great workout and exploration of what the Big Island has to offer! Thank you Kevin and Noni for making it such a great experience! more
I would recommend this activity solely for the caring and knowledgable guide we had! I don't know how long some of the other ...kayak groups take you out but I thought this one was plenty long for the money. Saw plenty of sea life! Great value and memories! more
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this was the best activity we have ever done the guide was great and very informative. i was a little worr...ied for my mom, but she did great. it was easy we both have never kayaked in our lives before, we want to do it again and again and again. thank you so much more

Had a great time! Saw a huge pod of spinner dolphins at the start of the trip - good omen for a fun day!
Guides fun and helpful. Snoring was great...lots of colorful fish. Kayaking was tiring and tough for a beginner, but it was doable.... Wear water shoes and a waterproof camera and cash for a tip. more
This was the most fun we had in Hawaii! We snorkeled and jumped off a 20' plus cliff! While snorkeling, about 100 spinner d...olphins decided to join us and got close enough some people could touch them! Absolutely awesome! more

My family of 6 really enjoyed the kayak and snorkeling trip on the Big Island. The guides were extremely friendly, informative, a...nd supportive. We had a couple of stops on the trip out, where we learned more about the island and its history. The snorkeling was great. It also provided a sense of how deep the water was, which made jumping off the cliff much easier. The guides provided plenty of refreshments, which made the trip back a little easier. Kayaking does require physical activity, so be prepared and drink water (which they will provide). more

We loved the time paddeling the Kayaks it was easy and fun. The snorkeling was the best!!! The rock climbing and jumping was g...reat as was the lava tube. We also saw the dolfins which was great. My only complaint was we got done too soon. I could have stayed our another 30 minutes at least. more
I have to say, the staff was fantastic. We came as a family - 2 adults and one 12-year old. One of us adults (me) got motion sic...kness on this trip. My 12 year old had to bear the brunt of the paddling as we were sharing a kayak. I was dreading the trip back from our snorkeling stop. The guides could see that we were struggling (because of my nausea and the high seas) and they tethered us to their kayak and helped us in. We continued to work our paddles but I think we might still be on the water today if it weren't for their help. My husband was in a single kayak and he did fantastic and had a great time. We certainly cannot blame anyone for my sea sickness except me but the staff was very nice about it and extremely helpful. Thanks guys for all of your help! My husband and son are ready to go again but I think I'll sit the next one out. more
It was a compact tour of kayaking, snorkeling, cliff diving and sea-cave watching, though the weather didn't allow sea-cave e...xploration on that day. The overall experience was worthwhile for a first-timer. The tour made it much easier for route guidance, picking up kayaking tips, tying up kayaks when snorkeling and quick onshore energy supplement. It might be a little demanding physically for individual rowers. Yet the staff were very experienced, helpful (and encouraging for beginners). more
We were on our honeymoon and decided that we wanted to go snorkeling for our 1st time so I did research and this just sounded amaz...ing to have a 2 in 1, snorkel & kayak! Kayaking is something that neither of us had done before either. We got there nice & early and all of the staff were very friendly. The adventure on the ocean was real cool too, the view from the ocean was beautiful along the coast. When we parked our kayaks, we snorkeled and the coral reefs were so pretty and the fish were bright colors like you see in magazines, it was awesome! We got out of the water and climbed the lava rocks and explored the tide pools in the immediate area while other people on our tour were still in the water watching sea turtles. We were asked if we wanted to climb some rocks & jump off the cliffs and I did it in a heart beat cause it looked like fun and it was. Fresh fruit, snacks & juices were provided to us by our guide Samantha I think was her name(if not something with an S). She was absol more
This was such an amazing day. We Kayaked 2 hrs out and 2 hrs in. We cliff dove, snorkeled, found some cool shells. The guides were... funny and educational (kudos) All I can say is it was the greatest day ever on our Hawaii vacation and would do it again if/when we come back. I TOTALLY recommend this tour place. more
We enjoyed the Keauhou Kayaking Adventure very much. The Staff was outstanding! They were patient and very capable kayakers. On...e led while the other stayed in the back for those that were a bit slower. We didn't feel rushed or exhausted, as Walter kept the pace based on the group's abilities. We had some pretty decent swells and were not able to get close to the Sea Cave, but the scenery was still incredible. The snorkeling stop was fun, and the Staff had enough masks/snorkels for everyone. There were some first-timers with our group and there were times when they struggled a bit, but in the parking lot afterwards said they had a great time. The Staff, again, was very patient with them and never made them feel like beginners. We own a kayak, so it was easy for us. . .but you may want to rent once on the mainland (or hotel) before you embark on this one, just to make the whole experience a little easier. We were late to the event (got lost), but the Staff waited for us to get more
This was a great purchase! It was a great experience, the guide was awesome, and it was definitely something that cannot be done b...ack home! My husband and I went on our honeymoon and book this activity for our first day in Hawaii. The description stated, Sea Cave Kayaking Adventure, but we got so much more! We kayaked, went to the sea cave, swam with dolphins, snorkeled, got to jump off a cliff, fed the mongoose, had a nice lunch, and learned a lot about sea life, not to mention the hundreds of different fish and sea life we got to encounter. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and always kept safety a priority! No question about it we would return time and time again! more

My granddaughter (14 yrs old) and I did this kayak snorkeling trip last month (July 27, 2012) and thoroughly enjoyed the experienc...e! We had never kayaked before but had snorkled quite a few times over on Oahu. Our group of 11 included both experienced and novice kayakers. The guides (especially Brent) were helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and especially patient with us newbies. Water visibility was fantastic. We saw an abundance of different fish when we stopped to snorkel and were lucky enough to have a pod of dolphins come within 15 feet of us. That alone made the experience memorable. Water bottles were provided on the kayaks and when we stopped we snacked on drinks, chips and fresh delicious pineapple. I would strongly recommend wearing water shoes/sandals in order to be able to easily climb up to the lava cliff to make the jump. Would I do this snorkeling trip again? In a heartbeat!!! more
My sister and I did the sea kayaking adventure our second day here, and we had a blast! It's about and hour out and an hour ...back, so be prepared to do some paddling, but well worth what's waiting for you at the end. Our guide showed us the sea caves, and let us take a dip in the most remote part of the world (think about it, no joke) and then took us to a small cove where we anchored to snorkel. Saw so many different fish, all different shapes and colors, and the water is crystal clear. After we had snacks on the lava rocks surrounding the cove and a few in the group tried their hand a cliff jumping (not for me, but very safe and looked like fun). HIGHLY recommend doing is excursion. One tip, bring water shoes! you can do it without but it would have been easier with. The guides, Angus and Dana, were awesome! Really fun and very knowledgeable. Mahalo guys! more
Very good trip, totally worth it compared to doing it on your own. We had a 5yo and a 8yo and it was no problem. They really enjoy...ed the snorkeling (they had both snorkeled and been in kayaks before). The guides pointed out lots of interesting things including lava tubes and eels catching crabs in tide pools near the lunch point. more
A trip highlight! The trip is challenging but not overly so, the staff were very personable and funny. They were able to account f...or everyone's skill level to make the trip enjoyable. Seeing wildlife from so close was great. Just bring your sunscreen -- would go again in a heartbeat! more
We decided to take this tour with my two teenage children and my parents. We had a fabulous time. My husband and daughter enjoye...d the cliff jumping while the rest of us snorkeled. The trip was very relaxing and enjoyable. more
The guides were friendly warm patient and experienced. The water was blue-green and beautiful. It was my first time scuba diving... and I had fun. It was a lot of exercise, but it was worth it. I definitely recommend it. more
WHAT A GREAT TOUR AND SO MANY WONDERFUL THINGS TO SEE! COULD HAVE DONE IT ALL DAY!
I gave the adventure 5 stars, because I don't think it could have been any better and the guides were excellent. That be...ing said, I did not enjoy the adventure. The water was very rough and I had a very difficult time paddling and controlling the kayak. I have kayaked on lakes and rivers before without difficulty. In addition, because it was so rough, I got VERY sea-sick. That made the return trip nearly impossible. Since you are on your own, you have to muscle through it. As a result, my husband didn't enjoy it because he was worried about me. Some suggestions, don't do this adventure if you get sea-sick. Another gentleman in the group was also throwing up, so it wasn't just me. In addition, unless you are in amazing physical condition, get a two person kayak. You can use your combined strength to get through the waves. more

Kyle and Kira were WONDERFUL!!! My 12 year old son, Brandon, and I, felt very safe and confident. We had the most perfect weather, too. Thank you Kyle and Kira!!! You guys ROCK!!! more

Our kayaking trip was amazing! We were both first-timers, and our guide (Tori) did an excellent job explaining how to paddle, safe...ty procedures, etc. if you're like me, you may be thinking, "You all say this is easy...but maybe you're just better at things than I am." Well, trust me: this is easy, fun, and wonderful. The trip was relaxing, and during the snorkeling part we saw lots of fish (yellow tang, parrot fish), an eel, and turtles. Once we got to the cliff and snack area, we also saw a mongoose! A note on the cliff: jump. Seriously, just do it. You will regret it if you don't. In short, take this adventure! The staff are professional and friendly, and the activity itself is not to be missed. Thank you, Tori, for one of our favorite activities! You are awesome! more
My wife and I went on the kayak and snorkel adventure about a month ago now and we were both so happy that we did. The bay itself ...and the surrounding areas are incredibly beautiful and kayaking is the best way to see it all. The snorkelling was great and our guide made everyone feel safe. Had a great trip celebrated turning 60 that day would kayak again though the rowing is strenuous. Augustine was my life saver as ...he helped me back in the kayak when my husband & I tipped over, that was the scariest thing. The two most helpful words were "don't panic" as I was starting to do just that but those words calmed me down. Augustine even retrieved my sunglasses which went 2o' deep. After snorkeling I could not get back in the kayak just don't have the upper body strength though I lift weights 4x's a week. A fantastic adventure! We rowed down the coast--explored and rolled into a couple of caves. Snorkeling and cliff jumping into cl...ear waters--everything we could ask for. Our guide-(Kayla)-sorry--I know that's wrong---was great. Good instructions on kayaking basics---knowledgable about the area---she knew her stuff. My wife and I--both 50-ish--were blown away. Absolutely fantastic. Our two guides were extremely knowledgeable about the Island and told us things that you would only get on a... tour. The kayaking was a blast and we had visibility to 100 feet. We went kayaking into a sea cave and were also able to snorkel there as well. We saw many fish, urchins, and even an eel in a tidal pond that our guide took us to. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to cross off their bucket list, kayaking across the bay/ocean, seeing ancient tombs, and being face to face with God's wonderful creation of the Island. The guides were lovely and we saw dolphins! It could not have been more fun. We went as a family with my 60-year old parents and... my 7-year old son. All had fun. There was snorkeling in a lovely cove, along with cliff diving and fresh pineapple. The only thing I wished I'd known was that we don't actually take the boats on shore for picnic time. My mom wasn't wanting to swim so ended up hanging out in the kayak. She still had fun watching the dolphins and cliff diving, though. I highly recommend the experience. more
My family visits the Hawaiian islands every summer and we've been on many tours. This particular event was very personalized ...and was one of the best we've been on over the years. The guide was very personable, he took us off track when dolphins showed up so we could snorkel near them. We chose the morning Kayak tour, it was a bit of a walk to get to the dock but were greeted warmly by Hauoli, our guide, and Ben. ...We stowed our valuables in their lock box and paddled out into Keauhou Bay and out into the ocean past the Sheraton Hotel, the Lekeleke/Kuamo'o sacred burial grounds, and the End of the World burial grounds which is a great tourist spot too. We got to the Sea Cave but because the swells were too high and dangerous that day, we admired them from outside. Our guide, Hauoli, made our tour so much fun. He regaled us with the history and attractions of the area, and being a local, was very knowledgeable and interesting. We did not stay for snorkeling or cliff jumping but thoroughly enjoyed our time kayaking. more
We are family of four and did two tandem kayaks, guides were great and friendly. Also very knowledgeable with safety first in mind.... Loved the snorkeling part once got to our tie off spot. I would definitely recommend booking with these guys. more
The guide was wonderful. This helped to make this adventure safe and extra interesting. Absolutely beautiful sites and one of th...e best big island day trips out there! Awesome! more
Devin and Derek were amazing tour guides. They were very attentive and made sure we were both safe and having a great time. The ca...ve was awe inspiring and the snorkeling was even better. I highly recommend this for anyone who wants an off the beaten path adventure. more
Our Kayak snorkel excursion was great......our guide gave us lots of information about the area and Hawaii as we paddled along........loved the trip would recommend it to others.!!! more

This vacation we did both the stand up paddle board as well as the kayak adventures. We had a wonderful time and will definitely u...se this outfitter again. more
We went on the kayak tour to a sea cave on June 27th. There were two adult's and 2 kids in our group. Overall they took out 2...0 people, so 10 double boats, with 2 guides. Happy & Ben were our tour guides and each took turns along the route to tell us interesting facts about the area. We had drinks and snacks at the area for cliff jumping. My only let down was there was no mention of sea caves nor did we go in one which I was really looking forward to since it was on the description and why I chose this one. However overall it was a great experience and the guides were very friendly and fun! The kids really enjoyed it and the snorkel time, more
This was a really unique way to see the island, and my family and I had a blast! The snorkeling quality and difficulty of kayaking... obviously vary with weather, but the beautiful views are amazing no matter what! The seas were pretty rough the day we went out, so we couldn't spend as much time in the cave, but the guides were really helpful, and we were still able to see plenty of fish, eels, and urchins despite the weather. The guides also pointed out some historical sites and things we never would have noticed alone. Excellent day trip! more
The crews are very patient, sweet and helpful. It was a fun trip allthough a lot harder than we (two sisters) expected. They ended... up towing us because we were behind everyone. The best part was eating awesome pineapples and feeding the skins to the fish. The deep blue ocean is really beautiful, absolutely worth it. more
Thanks to friendly knowledgeable guides my family will definitely do this again! We all had a great time! Bring sunscreen!
We had a great time kayaking the beautiful clear blue water with our guides Ben and Devin. Was a lot of fun getting to snorkel and... cliff jump and the guides provided us with snacks and drinks on the cliffs. The highlight for sure, however, was having a pod of dolphins swim by/amongst us on both our way there and our way back. Awesome time. Thanks Ben and Devin! more
We had a great time . It was a wonderful way to experience beautiful Hawaii. Our guides : Devin and Special K were so helpful, edu...cational and supportive ! We would definitely do this again ! more
A lot of kayaking and a little bit of snorkeling. Guide was good but area we snorkeled in was marginal at best.
Great time, children loved it!
Great place for kayaking, especially in the morning. Not the best place on the island for snorkeling, but good for part of the to...ur. more
The staff was great. Good outdoor activity; even mm mother thought it was the best thing we did. Snacks should have been healthie...r, especially considering the price; more things like the pineapple, lose the chips. more
This was only our second time kayaking and had a wonderful time...highly recommended for something other than the usual snorkeling... trip more
This was a great time. The staff was helpful and friendly in making sure you had a great time. Kayaking was a good and steady pac...e. Snorkeling was amazing! Being underwater with the fish and coral is a must see! Seeing dolphins playing close by is really neat too. Cave was a bit disappointing, being only 30 feet deep, you coulnd't really go in them. If you are up for the extreme, try the cliff jump, its definately a thrill and safe. All in all, a good experience; great way to spend a morning in Hawaii. more
This was a great experience for all. The natural beauty was stunning, and the staff was just as great. I wish the water was calm ...enough to go into sea caves, but the kayak tour did not suffer because of it. Sense of adventure and willingness to put in physical effort is required, but well worth it. Our group did end up with cuts and bruises. more
Kayaking was fun -Cave was not quite what I had expected (much smaller, but impressive all the same) and I didn't think about... the fact that I could not see while snorkeling due to not being able to wear glasses. Otherwise, tour guides were great and this was a very enjoyable way to spend time in the sun. more
The guides were very skilled and experienced. They were very helpful on the trip. Mid-trip snack could have been a little more s...ubstantial, however one can carry only so much on a kayak. There was really one small "cave" to see, but it was still a good time. more
Don't plan on going into this activity thinking you will be in your own kayak. Oceans Kayaks, who provides the kayaks and ...tour guides, etc. DO NOT have sufficient amounts of single kayaks to appease their guests. We, as an adult family of four, were looking forward to going on this adventure in individual kayaks. My fiancee and I kayak often and my daughter also has taken to kayaking. We wanted singles and were never (especially when booking online) given the option of singles vs. doubles. When we arrived, we expressed our desire for singles and were brushed off by employees who did not want to think outside the box. After much debate, we resigned ourselves to complete the activity and it was very enjoyable. We had great guides and we experienced quite a bit. We were hoping to snorkel a little longer, but we had a great time regardless. We do recommend this activity, but only if you don't mind being forced to take doubles kayaks. more
beautiful trip and experienced tour guide... need a lot energy though~~~ the way back from kayaking was so tired since the wave wa...s stronger than the morning... awesome experiences and three time flip over from kayak... make a record~~~lol~~~lol~~~ more
We had a great time. The cave was a little disappointing, I thought we were going through it, we just went up to it. Definately re...commend going with the 2 person kayak, lot less work :)Snorkeling was pretty neat, saw a few eels. The guides were very knowledegable and friendly. I would definately recommend this! more

I've never kayaked before and thought this was fun. It was a little windy on the day we went out but that didn't hinder ...us at all except when it came time to see the cave. Only one or two boats braved this part. Get ready to climb up some lava cliffs (about 4 feet high) and then jump back in too. Hadn't done anything like that in awhile but found it to be fun and refreshing. I sit at a desk all day so this was awesome for me. The snorkeling was beautiful as usual in Hawaii so no disappointment there. Overall we had a great time! more
The kayaking trip was good despite the weather. The waves were a little rough and we actually tipped over. Our guide was awesome! ...He answered all our questions and he stopped to help other people in need. Since the weather didnt cooperate, we werent able to snorkle. They are very understandable and refunded some of our mpney. We highly recommend this to anyone! more
It was ok. The only problem I had with it was that the with the snorkeling portion we went to a place where they said theres a lot... of fish and there werent, not colorful or of much variety. It was fun to jump off a cliff and go swimming. It was only worth the money because they gave unlimited snacks so you kind of got your moneys worth. more
This was a very unique experience for us. We felt in very good hands with our guides, considering we were in the open Ocean! Every...one was very friendly, and were quick to point out a pod of dolphins and their new baby! Totally awesome! more
The cave was a bit disappointing. It was so small that we only paddled in 3 feet and turned around. We actually snorkeled in a b...ay with cliffs. You were able to climb up and jump off a 30 foot cliff. They had great snacks up on the cliff: fresh pinapple, cookies, chocolate, cheese and drinks. The staff was very laid back. We had 3 tour guides for our trip that seemed to not stress about anything. We had one couple in our group that paddled away from the main group and the staff didn't seem concerned about it. more
The kayak/snorkeling adventure was a lot of fun. I was prepared to kayak, but it was still a LOT of work. In total, you end up k...ayaking for close to two hours. Then we snorkeled for close to an hour or more. Would NOT recommend if you cannot kayak for that long or if you have small kids that cannot help paddle. Just be prepared. The guides were nice and kept pace in the front with the leaders and in the rear with the slowest of the group. No one was left behind, which was nice. However, at the front of the group, we did do a lot of waiting for others. We went to a few sea caves and then went to a spot to snorkel and have snacks. The snacks were nice, the fresh pineapple was the best by far! I did not find anything unique about this tour though. I felt like the tour guides have given the same "WOW you guys seem adventerous, should we take them here....or not?" talk a thousand times. Was kind of corny. But the activity was exactly as described and both my husband and I more
Felt like a tourist but I got to do things I never did before like jump off that high cliff and kayak on my own. It was a LOT of ...work for me. If you've never done it, go with a double kayak. It's a little easier. The sea caves were non-existent. We only got 2 feet near a small little opening in the rock. The snorkeling was good. I rated the trip 4 stars only because of our guide who was really understanding and encouraging when it came to handling the fact that my daughter's boyfriend could not swim. It was because of our guide, I think his name is Brent, that John became daring enough to snorkel off the kayak and get help getting onto the rocks where he was able to relax a little and enjoy the snacks. The jump off the cliff is scary but fun to brag about afterwards. It was worth it for the experience of paddling a kayak on the open ocean but thank heaven the water wasn't rough when we went! more
Great, fun day splashing around off the Kona coast. Nothing wildly new, unless you've never done this sort of thing before. G...etting buzzed by a pod of spinner dolphins and the 20-ft cliff jump were highlights. Just be aware: you're looking at several hours of direct sun here, so best buy the aloe first. more
My husband and I went on this trip as a wedding present from my brother on our honeymoon and we had a blast! It was great to be ab...le to be in a kayak together. The places we saw, and the stories we were told were awesome. There was even a surprise cliff jump! It's a great way to see a beautiful side to the Big Island! more
An awesome way to spend Christmas Morning! This was part of many firsts for our family: our first trip to Hawaii, first time kayak...ing in the ocean, first time snorkeling, .... We had a wonderful time. My husband and I shared a Kayak and our son had his own. All of us had a wonderful time. My husband and son even jumped off the cliff! My only disappointment was I wish I had some photos of us during the experience. more
Great experience. Guide Kyle was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area and kayaking. Wonderful snack & jumping from the... cliff. Great time had by all. Great value for the $. Highly recommended. We are retired with 30 something children with us more
Very taxing on your upper body, first time kayaking so I didn't realize what I was in for, but we still had a great time. Th...e snorkeling and cliff jumps were awesome! more
This was a great little kayak tour. The guides were absolutely awesome (don't remember their names). We were hoping to see a ...few more sea caves/lava tubes, and thought we might be able to go in them. We only got to take a look at one sea cave, and we just paddled up to it and looked. The snorkeling was good, and the cliff jump was awesome as well. Well worth the money! more
We had a great time doing this. Our guide was so nice. She was upbeat, relaxed and professional. That set the tone for the trip an...d allowed all of us to relax and have fun. The sea cave was a little disappointing, it was more like a hole in the wall. The snorkeling was wonderful. All in all it was a thumbs up trip that I'd like to do again. more
The Kayak and Snorkel Adventure was great! Our family of 5, including two 10 year olds and a 6 yr old, participated. It was a bi...t much for our kiddos to paddle the whole way so the majority of the work was on the parents. We were able to get a 3 person kayak for the 6 yr old, a 10 yr old, and a parent. Once we got to the snorkeling location it was fun to snorkel then get out and have fresh pineapple then jump off the cliff into the ocean! The guides were super friendly and very helpful. At times kayaks would fall behind the group and they always had someone who stayed with them just to make sure they were OK. There was never pressure to hurry up, etc. I am giving it a 4 vs. a 5 because we didn't see/go into any sea caves which was one thing we were looking forward to. I would recommend! more
We had a fun time on this trip! Great guide (Angus), nice ride out and back. We saw some coral, fish and got to do some cliff jump...ing. Would definitely recommend and don't forget your sunscreen! more
Fun and well organized experience. This is a very physical activity and should be attempted by people who are in good physical con...dition. This is especially true in rough surf. Tour guides were attentive and knowledgeable. more
Really easy trip with great snorkeling. Some of the best on the islands!
Loved the event and tanner made it fun! They broight drinks and snacks, and we agree with rahguard shirts and a hat are great choi...ces! more
The staff was a bit cranky at check in but once things got rolling, I think they woke up and all was good. I enjoyed the snorkle ...site but the sea cave exploration is little more than "here is the cave, it's not really deep, next please"......overall I had a good time but felt I paid too much for what I got. If you have never been kayaking in Hawaii and want to, then I would have no problem recommending this outfit. I just think you may get more value from a less green more motorized adventure. more
Although we really enjoyed the beautiful setting and being on the water it would have been much more enjoyable if they had provide...d fins. The water was a little choppy and we weren't able to snorkle as long as we wanted because we were just too tired after all the paddling. Also, we weren't able to enter the sea cave because of the waves. I was hoping to see dolphins or turtles but I guess it wasn't our lucky day. The staff were very nice and helpful but I think there are better sites for snorkling. more
The tour itself was cool but didn´t hold its promisses/expectations. The abstract about the tour on the internet contained informa...tion about the summer tour. So, everybody expected something else. In the end, we didn´t do much on this tour but enjoying ourself, which would have been great if I would have known about it earlier. more
Had a good time. I'm athletic so asked for a single but was put in a double kayak with my father since girls are "weak&...quot;. My father got sea sick so we were towed back even though I wanted to do the rowing. I never did get the exercise I wanted and never saw the sea caves so was pretty disappointed. My brother went on to see the caves in his single kayak. We were told that the activity would be over at noon but my brother came back at 11 a.m. We had to wait around til noon for our ride which was also a little disappointing. Wouldn't do this activity again under the circumstances. more
This was reccommended for all levels. I do not agree. We had several children who were not able to paddle and it made it very ha...rd for the adult in that boat. My parents are in their seventies, the guides were nice enough to pull them. The tour was great my family was not the type of customer that needed to be on this tour. We were allowed out of the kayak to snorkle, a very nice spot, but we had to climb on rocks to take a break. The sea cave was neat but not exactly what I was expecting. We ahd to ask to jump off the cliffs - I am not sure they usually do that although it is in the description. The dolphin and whales were no where to be seen. think there are better snorkling tours available unless you are strong and love to kayak. However the staff and company was great. more
To start, the water was pretty rough, they should have considered canceling. Of the 7 people in our group, 2 got sick. We were una...ble to go ashore at all because the ocean was so rough, and with my parents in the group there was no way they could get back in the kayak from the water if they were to have gotten out to snorkel. All we did was paddle out to the sea caves, which we couldn't enter due to rough water, and paddle back. It was a short, disappointing trip. They did offer for us to take rental kayaks out later in the week, however that didn't fit into our schedule. more
Julia and Pat
This tour started out great. Once we were into the waters, we were told we won't be able to snorkel or go into the caves due ...to the water being to choppy.. So I guess it depends when you do this tour, out of the whole tour we accomplished maybe 2 hours before heading back. I probably will not do this tour again.. more
It was a very short trip and we only saw 1 cave and a very small one. The guide was great, however due to the approaching hurrican...e he said that it was not save going further. I'm not an expert on weather, but the waters/wind did not change for the entire time we were there. If I would've known what it was going to be, I would've prefer they had cancelled the trip and we would have either planned for another day or received our refund. more
Our guides were very nice, funny and competent but we had no idea we were kayaking 3 miles total, which took up about 45 minutes e...ach way. The area at which we snorkeled was "OK" - no brilliantly colored coral and saw only a few fish. We did some cliff jumping which was nice. We did not see any caves and nobody explained why. The kayak trip back was slightly difficult and very choppy due to all the boaters. Be aware that you spend much more time kayaking than you do snorkeling and it is physically demanding - one mother-daughter (adult daughter) couple had to be towed back. It was a good experience but wouldn't do it again. more
This trip was a total disappointment. Didn't see the inside of any caves. I don't mind exercising but the work this t...rip took was brutal. There were seven in our group and we all felt the same way about trip! Don't book this activity! more
We were looking forward to this as the best part of our vacation, but we're very disappointed. We arrived at the dock area, a...nd out guide told us it might be a little cold and windy out but that it would not affect our tour of we still wanted to go out. We decided to go, and kayaked a mile and a half through very choppy waters. Exhausted by the time we reached the sea caves, our guide turns to us and tells us it is too rough to do any other part of the tour and we have to turn back. We ate the snacks they had packed and paddled back. No refund offered and no one let us know before hand that we would not get to do half the tour. The guide was very nice, but there should be some sort of refund policy if only a partial refund.... more
Absolutely gorgeous morning...our guides Ben and Happy were amazing....they were really great....very helpful and very knowledgeab...le....it was the advertising of this event that I'm pissed about....me and my kids wanted to travel into sea caves....well....there was no sea cave...it was literally a hole in the mountain.....you don't go into a "cave" and explore and see amazing things....you literally go up to a wall and thats it. Had I known that....I wouldn't have dropped $85.00 bucks each to paddle out in a kayak to see a hole in a mountain!!! It's very misleading and I wouldn't waste the money on this.....we did see dolphins run by us in the kayaks, we did see some fish while snorkeling..even though my mask they provided kept fogging up...I eventually just gave up on the snorkeling and sat on a rock until it was time to go. No pictures to provide bc go pro didn't work. more
