My husband and I were only on Hawaii for a few days and wanted to get as much volcano exposure as we could into one excursion. An all day tour seemed like the perfect choice, with a hike of the lava fields during the day and including the 'glow' at night. We ended up being the only two people on our tour and Jeremy was amazing throughout the entire day, starting with his stopping at the visitor's center so that we could get ponchos when it looked like it was going to rain - and about five minutes after we got down into the crater and onto the lava field, rain it did! As a result, though, we only had wet and squishy shoes instead of wet and squishy EVERYTHING for the rest of the day and into the evening - we actually had fun with it, though, and just chalked it up to part of the adventure. Throughout the day Jeremy was super attentive and entertaining - despite the fact that he'd only been doing the job for a few months, we'd never have known if it hadn't come up in conversation. The volcano fields were SO cool (even in the dumping rain) and we absolutely loved getting to see the spatter and glow of the lava from the active portion of the volcano that night. It was also great that the tour included both lunch and dinner, and dinner at the winery was very good and we enjoyed getting to try local wine. We thought the tour gave a great bang for our buck and would highly recommend it.
