Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of helicopter will be used?
The Bell Jet 407 is a six-passenger aircraft known for having the fastest cruising speed of any helicopter on the islands, offering unsurpassed comfort and a virtually vibration-free ride. Its over-sized windows are great for picture taking, and its large fuel capacity allows for extended, non-stop flights.
What are the zipline specifications?
Hawaii Forest and Trail (Kohala): Nine different ziplines, five sky bridges and a rappel are offered, making this the Big Island's only full canopy tour.
Botanical World Adventures (Hilo): Seven different ziplines are offered, taking you over running rivers and the beautiful gardens where more than 5,000 plant species are maintained.
Are lava sightings guaranteed?
Although your pilot will make every effort to find active lava flows during your helicopter tour, volcanic activity is an unpredictable natural phenomena and cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless, Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world, so the chances of seeing red-hot emerging lava are high.
How do the flight plans for each package differ?
The overall flight plan and length of time in the air is the same for each package. The Kona to Kohala Air & Zipline Adventure package covers the entire 2-hour flight first, and then lands in Kohala for ziplining. The Kona to Hilo Family Air & Zipline Adventure package splits the flight into two parts, first flying out to Hilo for ziplining, and then returning along a scenic route to Kona Airport.
Any cancellations made within 2 business days of your activity (after 18:00:00 local time) will be subject to a charge of 100% of the total amount.
