How is the ride to the summit?
The access road leading to the summit of Mauna Kea can be bumpy, but the transportation vehicle used has four-wheel drive drive and is built for these types of excursions.
Will we be able to see any stars?
Weather permitting, you should be able to see the night sky from the visitor's center before the sun starts to rise. Your guide can help you identify certain stars and constellations. Please note, however, that telescopes are not provided on this tour. The highlight of this tour is the sunrise. Don't hesitate to get up for this experience, yes, we too, were on vacation; however it's the most amazing sunrise witho...ut doing a major mountain climb.
