What To Expect
Day 01: Walk 15 kms - approximately 6 hours
Meet your guide and group at the historic Carrington Hotel in Katoomba for the walking briefing. Then, head near the Explorer Tree and follow the main track down to the clifftop lookout above the gorge of Nellies Glen. From here, look down the Megalong Creek Valley in the direction you will be walking. Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Megalong Valley with spectacular views back towards the Blue Mountains escarpment.
Continue through the valley and cross the Bowtells Swing Suspension bridge to Coxs River - bring your swimmers as this is a great place to take a dip and revitalize in the crystal clear waters. In the evening, stay at the eco-friendly Six Foot Track bush-walkers lodge, offering clean and comfortable accommodation in a bush setting. Sit back and relax as dinner is prepared for you featuring local produce and local wines.
Day 02: Walk 19 kms - approximately 7 hours
Jump-start your day with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. A challenging uphill day awaits climbing 800 meters over the course of the day. Begin with 3kms of steep track before morning tea. Continue up towards Black Range ridge then enjoy a lunch stop to re-energize. The walk follows the fire trail along Black Range passing through wooded country. After the walk, spend the night at the historical Jenolan Caves House. Enjoy dinner in the delightful Chisholms Restaurant.
Day 03: Walk 10 kms - approximately 4 hours
Enjoy breakfast in the restaurant before taking a tour of the spectacular Jenolan Caves. Afterwards, head out to finish the last part of the Six Foot Track trail. Pass Carlotta Arch and walk up the steep Binoomera Ridge and stop to greet the wild kangaroos along the way and have lunch. Your 3 day tour ends with a coach transfer back to Katoomba.

Optional activity costs
Please bring one overnight bag, rucksack, or a small suitcase (the type that would pass as carry-on luggage on a plane) to carry all your personal items. Please ensure you have no loose items. All items must be enclosed within your overnight bag or in the case of a sleeping bag tied to your main bag.
Wear walking clothes suitable to the weather (long-sleeves, trousers, shorts, t-shirts). Wearing layers is also recommended. Bring full weather gear as climate is variable.
Closed-toe sturdy footwear must be worn at all times. Good walking boots/shoes that have been walked in at least 4 weeks prior to the tour are recommended.
On Day 2, river with ankle- to calf-deep water will have to be crossed. This will require you to remove your shoes. A pair of crocs or slippers are recommended for these sections.
Please bring thermal underwear, jumper and warm gear to change into at night. Scarves, beanies, gloves and 2 to 3 pairs of good thick walking socks are also recommended.
Please bring insect repellent, your own sleeping bag and sheets, personal toiletries (deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, etc.), towel and strong garbage or dry bags to waterproof essential equipment.
A small camping pillow will be provided. If you feel this is not suitable, please feel free to bring your own pillow.
Sleeping bags will not be provided.
Bring a small backpack to carry your personal items while walking. Your day pack should include your own mugs or cups for morning and afternoon tea breaks, band-aids, camera, hat, personal emergency medication, lightweight torch, swimsuit, sunglasses, sunscreen and water container with at least 2 liters of water on day 1 to keep you hydrated.
While alcohol will be provided during dinner, please drink moderately as bushwalking can be very strenuous, especially on Day 2. Excessive alcohol and hiking do not mix.
This tour has a 6 passenger minimum and a 12 passenger requirement for operation and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met. Please call at least 48 hours prior to departure to confirm schedule.
If during the trip you decide not to take the Caves Tour, you will be charged for the shuttle bus ticket that has been pre-paid.
