About Budapest Thermal Baths

There are three famous bath houses in Budapest: Gellert Bath, an Art Deco masterpiece with lovely marble columns surrounding the indoor pool—is the oldest spa in Budapest. Bathing here is like bathing in a church, says those who tried it—very solemn and rather mystical. Széchenyi Thermal Baths is very popular among locals and tourists (no wonder as its amenities are truly luxurious). There is an enormous open-air pool in the midst of an even larger bath complex, composed of five mixed curative baths, four women's pools and three men's pools. Everywhere are statues, contributing to the decadent air. Massages and water gymnastic activities are offered. Király offers pure relaxation in simple baths, housed in a 500-year old Turkish structure.
