This mosque illuminates the Cairo cityscape with its dramatic choice of construction materials: alabaster and metal. From up in the air, the metallic domes are instantly recognizable. The tomb of Mohammad Ali Pasha, a 19th-century ruler of Egypt is inside. The mosque also sports a spacious interior, numerous chandeliers, and walls decorated by Thuluth inscriptions.
