Pick-up at Select Hotels in Colombo
Head out to Kosgoda and visit the turtle hatchery. Learn more about the efforts being done to protect turtle eggs from harm and prevent the rapid deterioration of their numbers. If you happen to visit at night, you might even get to release a baby turtle into the ocean.
Cruise on Madhu River
Glide along the lush mangrove forests of the Madu Ganga River. Discover the abundant plant life and wildlife species living in this complex ecosystem like monkeys nestled on trees and monitor lizards gliding in the water.
Be greeted by pristine waters and beautiful coral reefs as you arrive at Hikkaduwa. Marvel at the colorful coral formations that bring life to its tranquil waters as you cruise by them.
Take a tour around the monastery as a young monk guides you along. Look at an ancient 150-year-old book made of palm leaves before being introduced to the local way of life. See how they produce cinnamon and how they cook on cinnamon wood in open fire.
Head to Ambalangoda where the famous "Devil Masks" are made. These colorful masks go as far back as the 1800's and are unique to the culture of Sri Lanka. They portray different characters in well-known folk tales as well as evil dancing.
Drive to Galle
Cap off your tour with a stroll around the old Portuguese Fort of Galle and discover its history as you explore its well-preserved structures. Then head on to the Galle Fort, a World Heritage Site, and see the beautifully preserved walls that symbolized hundreds of years of the city's rich heritage.

En route, visit the wetland of the Maduganga River by boat which holds a 61-hectare mangrove spread. This natural wonder has proven of immense bio-ecological value with 14 out of the 24 varieties of mangroves of Sri Lanka, being found in this environment.
Continue to Ambalangoda where the famed 'devil masks' are produced. We will drive on to Galle, the Old Portuguese Fort rebuilt by the Dutch. This Fort is still in a fine state of presentation and today, most of the administration of Galle is carried out from here. Galle is also the center of the ebony wood carvers and handmade laces; you will be able to visit these workshops in the course of the tour.
