The Little Mermaid may be Copenhagen’s best-known landmark. She stands at 3.3 feet high and is located on the northern end of the waterfront at the Kastellet, a citadel that’s over 340 years old. Despite having had her head and arm lopped off several times; surviving a bombing and repeated acts of vandalism, this fairy-tale inspired sculpture continues to recline beside the sea.
