What To Expect
Visit Essaouira and get an experience like no other as you explore the main highlights of the Moroccan city and taste the sumptuous flavors of the local cuisine. This tour will be initiated with meetups at the designated meeting point.
First on the itinerary is a visit to the oldest pastry shop in Essaouira. Established in 1928, this pastry shop has served locals and visitors alike with great tasting traditional Essaouira pastries. Delight in the authentic flavors of the pastry shop's flavors as garnered from the family recipes passed down from one Moroccan generation to another.
Next, your tour guide will take you to the iconic watchtower of the city. Enjoy a panoramic view of Essaouira from its impressive port to the vast ocean. Most visitors never get to experience the breathtaking view of this tower due to the difficulty of locating its entrance, but with your knowledgeable tour guide, you will not have a problem climbing up. To make the view even more worthwhile, your tour guide will point out some of the famous landmarks that spread across the land from your point of view.
After the watchtower tour, you will be taken to an art studio where you will meet a local artist who practices the traditional Moroccan artwork. It is common to find sales men selling Moroccan artwork in the Medina, but during this tour, the artist behind the art pieces will show you how he creates his art and sell them to you as well.
Then, you will set out to the local fish market where you can get the taste of grilled fish. Here, both locals and tourists come to buy, sell, and enjoy the freshest catch of the day straight out from the ocean. Sit on the wooden tables and benches beside the locals.
Next on the itinerary is a taste of a typical Moroccan dessert. Afterwards, you will come to a local herbalist's shop to sample an aromatic Moroccan Royal Tea. The herbalist will blend and mix your tea on the spot and will also sell you some of the local spices and herbs that he uses for herbal remedies and witchcraft. Watch as the locals drop by and purchase several items from the herbalist.
Last on the itinerary is a drop off at the Al Massira Street where your tour guide will recommend several hotspots in Essaouira that you can visit on your own time.
