“We loved our tour guide in Lucca - I believe her name is Lira - very passionate about her city, and very enthusiastic as well. Do note though that the pastry tasting consists of only one pastry that you get to taste after you queue up. ...Anonymous, – See more reviews
What To Expect
Discover two of Italy's most artistic towns! Head over to the town of Lucca and walk along its widely popular 16th century walls that were built by its past inhabitants for defense against the outside forces. Admire the historic elements of the town such as its antiquated buildings, tree-lined pathways, and old brick roads. Cherish the sight of the Piazza Anfiteatro, an oval-shaped plaza surrounded by medieval houses and has functioned in the past as the centre of Roman entertainment.
Next, visit the Torre Guinigi a 125 foot tower house that stands as a symbol of prestige for the affluent Guinigi family. Come to the Duomo di San Martino or the Lucca Cathedral as it is commonly called. This specific cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Lucca and is decorated with fine marble all throughout. Discover rare antiques at the antique dealers' street. Enjoy sampling tasty pastries at a historic downtown café before you head out to the next town.
Depart to the historical town of Pisa, a town best known for its architectural masterpieces. Go on a walking tour of the town to see some of its popular tourist attractions such as the Piazza dei Miracoli (a walled UNESCO World Heritage site that houses a cathedral, the baptistery, the leaning tower of Pisa, and the monumental cemetery), the Leaning tower of Pisa, the Baptistery (considered as the largest baptistery in Italy), and the Pisa Cathedral.
Enjoy the free time by shopping for souvenirs and taking pictures of the historic monuments and venues.
