What To Expect
Spend a day out into the Italian countryside along with a witty English-speaking guide who can show and tell you all that you need to see and know!
Start off the tour by enjoying a comfortable 2.5 hour ride aboard an airconditioned coach as your guide tells you the tales of the two regions of Tuscany and Liguria's history, traditions and culture. Once you've arrived at the first destination, hop aboard a public boat and sail across the majestic Poet's Gulf where you can admire the surrounding natural attractions, the coastline and the vivid villages around the area.
After the cruise, discover the beautiful town of Portovenere, a town considered to be among the most attractive places in the West Coast of Italy. See fishermen's boats docked by the beach, antiquated castles on the horizon, brightly-colored homes, and churches standing around the area. Roam around Portovenere on your free time.
Hop aboard the boat once again to reach the Ligurian Coast where you can closely admire the Cinque Terre National Park, a park listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See how the residents of this village overcame the challenge of building their houses in the steep and uneven hillsides.
After a pleasant 1.25 hour cruise, you will stop by at the town of Monterosso, the largest town in Cinque Terre. Enjoy local dishes as much as you want and try new and different delicacies that suits your taste. You may take an optional 45-minute light hike or take a dip in the sea, whichever activity you want to do as you savor moments in the Italian riviera.
Follow your guide through ancient olive groves, terraced vineyards, and many other panoramic views that you will surely treasure forever.
Then, take the train to the charming town of Vernazza which is generally known for its small square looking out into the sea and its narrow streets. Its scenic features makes it appear as if it came out of a Renaissance painting.
Finally, reach the tiny village of Riomaggiore which is perched high atop a cliff that hangs above the sea. See fantastic views of the tiny harbor which boasts of colorful boats, pristine waters, and attractive natural formations.
Before you go, make sure to sample some of the Liguria region's finest flavors including their pesto as you will be boarding the train soon for a quick ride to the private airconditioned coach which will take you back to Florence.
