What To Expect

A professional guided walking tour will take you to the Piazza dei Miracoli and it monuments (exterior only). Be dazzled by the Baptistery, the Cathedral, the "Camposanto," and the Leaning Tower.
The commentary of our guide will be particularly focused on the Leaning Tower, one of the wonders of the world. Be enthralled by the history and leaning structure of the Tower, which stirs the imagination of all visitors. Then, our guide will lead you through the historical quarter where you can admire the church of San Sisto, one of the oldest churches in Pisa.
After a pleasant guided walk, you will reach Piazza dei Cavalieri, which was the political center in the Middle Ages. Our guide will introduce this amazing square where you can admire the historic Scuola Normale (Normal School), one of the most famous universities in the world, and the house of Count Ugolino della Gherardesca, also called "Conte Ugolino Tower" as told by Dante in the Divine Comedy.
Passing the famous medieval Tower houses, be captivated by the explanation provided by our guide about the history of these particular buildings. While walking through the downtown streets, admire the ancient house where Giacomo Leopardi lived. Then you will reach the amazing Piazza Arcivescovado, where the impressive Palazzo Vescovile is located.
The guided tour will end by the magnificent Leaning Tower. Enjoy the the interior visit of this magnificent tower, and climb to its top by mounting its 294 steps rising up in a spiral. It will be one of the most amazing experiences you can ever try! The tower is 55.86 m tall (183.27 ft) from the ground on the low side and 56.70 m tall (186.02 ft) on the high side, around 3.99 degrees leaning. The weak and unstable subsoil caused this unique phenomenon, contributing to the creation of one of the wonders of the world.

Participants must be 8 years old to join the tour. Children between 8 and 12 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult and held by the hand at all times. Teenagers between 12 and 18 years of age are allowed on the tower only if accompanied by a responsible adult (please provide proof of age).
This tour has a 2 passenger minimum requirement for operation and is subject to cancellation if this minimum is not met. Please call at least 24 hours prior to departure to confirm schedule.
Other languages (Russian, Japanese, etc) are also available at an additional cost and with a minimum of four passengers.
We recommend visitors to be punctual as time slots for groups at the Leaning Tower are strictly adhered to. No delays will be accepted with respect to the times shown on your entrance ticket. The visit lasts 30 minutes and no extensions are allowed.
It is strictly forbidden to carry any bags and/or containers of any kind and shape during the visit of the Leaning Tower. These objects must be left at the cloakroom near the meeting point. Cameras, movie-cameras and video-cameras are allowed.
Visiting the tower requires a considerable amount of physical effort. Please consider that the spiral staircase has about 300 steps. Individuals with heart conditions cannot visit the tower.
*In case of long queue, if you cannot visit the interior of the Cathedral, you will be offered a guided visit of Piazza dei Cavalieri.
