What To Expect
Go on a 90km drive south of Hanoi to reach Ninh Binh province, the site of the once capital city of ancient Vietnam before Hanoi took over in the 11th century.
Ninh Binh features lots of well-known scenery and landscapes, which includes Tam Coc Caves, and Hoa Lu, where you can find the ancient temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le, who reigned during the 10th century.
We'll start your visit to Ninh Binh with a boat trip in Tam Coc, where specular limestone karsts jut out from the green paddy fields. The landscape will remind you of Guilin (in China) and Halong Bay of Vietnam. In fact, the scenery is so breathtaking, many people have dubbed it "Halong Bay On Land."
Go further into Ninh Binh, and discover many historical facts and anecdotes. We'll go to the site that used to be a king's palace during the 10th century, and is now famous for the wooden reliefs of the temples of King Dinh and King Le.
We'll return to Hanoi in the late afternoon.
