What To Expect
The Mid-Autumn Festival or the Tet Trung Thu dates back as far as 15 to 20,000 years ago in Southeast Asia and is one of the most popular festivals in Vietnam. Children parade on the streets while carrying colorful lanterns of various shapes and sizes. Dances are also a tradition.
The tour begins at a local house where you'll learn how to make moon cakes. You'll be surprised to know how many ingredients are necessary and how complicated it is to prepare these special cakes.
We then head to a restaurant decorated in colorful lanterns and candles for dinner, passing through small stalls selling moon cakes. You'll have the opportunity to taste delicious local food and admire the vibrant merry-making in the streets.
After dinner, we'll take a short walk at Luong Nhu Hoc Street where you will see several traditional items used for the festival.
