Make a pilgrimage into holy land to discover a citadel that has been a center of religious pilgrimages since it was built in 330AD at the site of Moses’s Burning Bush.
The remains of St Katherine of Alexandria are interred in the monastery’s basilica. In 2002, the monastery opened the doors of the Sacred Sacristy, containing an invaluable collection of Byzantine icons, exquisitely caved doors, superb wall paintings, rare manuscripts and prayer books, precious stones, and other fine religious ornaments, to the public. The monastery also has a wonderful library of illuminated manuscripts. Truly, the atmosphere here is heavy with sacred history. Breathe its essence into your being as you stand next to the forbidding walls, built to defend the Faith.
