About Istanbul Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts

An elegant Ottoman building is home to a superb collection of Turkish carpets and Islamic art.

The Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts was built between 1520 and 1536 by Ibrahim Pasha, Grand Vizir to Süleyman the Magnificent. The Grand Vizir met a terrible end, unfortunately; but he left behind an exquisite legacy: the Ottoman’s most magnificent private residence.
