What To Expect
In stark contrast to Kauai's lushness is Waimea Canyon State Park. Over thousands of years earthquakes and erosion have created dramatic variation in the landscape. Waimea Canyon, called the "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific," is the showpiece of the tour and offers one of the best views of the western coast of the island.
Along with the ever-present natural beauty of Waimea Canyon State Park, historical and cultural spots provide a touch of romance to the tour. There are the remains of the early 19th-century Russian Fort, Fort Elizabeth, and Old Koloa Town, a historic plantation town now known for its shopping and dining.
