Learn about these countries histories and cultures - from their medieval past to contemporary events. See Poland's beautiful natural landscapes, Latvia's fascinating art nouveau architecture, Lithuania's baroque beauty and Estonia's charming mix of the medieval and the modern.
Day 1 - Arrival in Krakow
Tour participants will have their check-in and welcome meeting.
Day 2 - Krakow
Get yourself acquainted with the former royal capital of Poland in our sightseeing tour of Krakow! See famous landmarks such as the St.Mary's Church, the Jagiellonian University, Wawel Castle and Cathedral and more. In the afternoon, you are given the option to take an excursion to the world famous Wieliczka Salt Mine. In the evening, enjoy Poland's delicious cuisine in an optional dinner at Restaurant Hawelka.
Day 3 - Krakow-Warsaw
After having breakfast, we will set out for Poland's spiritual heart - the city of Czestochowa. While we're here we will visit the Jasna Gora Monastery which houses the miraculous Black Madonna. After our visit, we will continue on to Warsaw.
Day 4 - Warsaw
See Warsaw - Poland's meticulously rebuilt capital in our morning sightseeing tour. The tour will take you to see the Royal Castle, St. John's Cathedral, the Old Town Market Square and the Barbican. In the afternoon, you can join in an optional excursion to the Royal Lazienki Park with the Palace on the Water. In the evening have an optional Polish dinner at Restaurant Bazyliszek.
Day 5 - Warsaw-Mragowa
The tour will head on to the picturesque Masurian lake district. See some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the whole of Poland in the district's myriad lakes and large forests. While in the district, we will visit the quaint town of Ketrzyn from which we will visit the majestic Baroque church in Swieta Lipka and on to the town of Gizycko. After our tour of the towns of the lake district, we will then head on to Mragowa.
Day 6 - Mragowa-Vilnius
After having our breakfast, we will continue to travel in the Masurian lake district on our way to Lithuania. Our first stop in Lithuania would be the sprawling city of Kaunas. During our visit in Lithuania's former capital city, we will take a sightseeing tour of Kaunas' beautiful Old Town, especially it's magnificent Baroque Town Hall. After the tour, we will continue on to Vilnius where the tour will stop for the night.
Day 7 - Vilnius
In the morning, we will take a panoramic tour of the charming city of Vilnius and a walking tour of the city's beautiful UNESCO listed Baroque Old Town located in it's center. See some of the city's famous landmarks such as the Vilnius Cathedral, Gediminas Tower, Peter and Paul Church, the Old University and St. Anne's Church. In the afternoon, you can join in an optional excursion to Lithuania's medieval capital, Trakai. Get to visit the legendary Trakai Castle located in the middle of Lake Galve. In the evening, you can enjoy an optional folklore dinner at Restaurant Belmontas.
Day 8 - Vilnius-Riga
We will start off the day with a visit to one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Lithuania, the Hill of Crosses. Be astounded by the sight of a thousand crosses planted by Lithuanians as an expression of their national or spiritual fervor. After our visit, we will cross over into Latvia to visit the grandiose Rundale Palace which has served as the Duke of Courland's summer residence. Stroll through the lavishly decorated rooms and beautifully laid out gardens in a guided tour of the palace. We will then head on to Riga.
Day 9 - Riga
Start your day by joining in the optional excursion to Gauja National Park and the town of Sigulda. Enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of the park and see castle ruins and hear about the legend of the Rose of Turaida. In the afternoon, learn more about how the Latvians lived in the past at the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum. In the evening, you can enjoy some fine music at the optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.
Day 10 - Riga
Get yourself acquainted with the largest of the Baltic capital cities in our sightseeing tour of Riga. We will take a walking tour of the Old Town and see Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter's Church and some of the city's famed art nouveau architecture. In the afternoon, take an optional visit to the sunny and vibrant resort town of Jurmala. See some of the town's sandy beaches and romantic wooden architecture. In the evening, have an optional Latvian dinner at the Restaurant La Boheme.
Day 11 - Riga-Tallinn
A bright morning ahead as the tour continues on to the bright and beautiful resort town of Parnu. Known as Estonia's Summer Capital, stroll the streets of this picturesque and historical town in a short tour. We will then continue on through North Estonia's verdant landscape to Tallinn.
Day 12 - Tallinn
Acquaint yourself with Tallinn and it's alluring blend of medieval tranquility and modern urbanity. The sightseeing tour will take us into the bustling Old Town to see Toompea Castle, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Old Town Hall and the Great Guild Hall. In the afternoon, admire the classic and contemporary fine art collections within the award-winning Kumu art museum. To cap the day off, have an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Peppersack.
