What To Expect
Drive along the picturesque countryside to the rural interior and visit cottage industries like Keris (sword) making and Songket weaving - a traditional Malay fabric beautifully woven in silk or cotton yarns mixed with gold or colorful metallic treads in traditional motifs. Witness the traditional lifestyle of villagers which include stops at other cottages like Mengkuang and Pandanus (leaf) weaving, and Dodol (palm sugar) making. Also see monkeys plucking coconuts! Try young coconut juice and Air Tuak (palm wine). Have a delicious picnic lunch en-route, before watching how charcoal is made from mangrove wood during the visit to Marang fishing village.
