What To Expect
Lake Chini is one of the only two natural lakes in peninsula Malaysia. It lies majestically among 12,000 acres of lush tropical wilderness which encompasses a series of 12 lakes. Legend has it that a mythical dragon lives in the lake and is the guardian of a lost city of gold, which was once there.
Enjoy a boat ride through a narrow river canopied by huge rainforest trees. Pink lotus flowers and water lilies greet you when you reach the first lake. On the river banks live the Jakun people - an aboriginal tribe who believe that a serpent named Naga Seri Gumum (like Loch Ness Monster) is the spirit of the lake. Visit the Aboriginal Settlement and observe how the blowpipe is used as their main hunting weapon.
