What To Expect
Ginkaku-ji, Temple of the Silver Pavilion, one of the Rinzai Zen Buddhist temples included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site listed Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto officially named Jisho-ji Temple of Shining Mercy. Known for its Silver Pavilion, explore Ginkaku-ji by walking along a circular route around its grounds to enjoy the amazing view of the gardens and buildings. One of the most visited sites in Kyoto for cherry blossom viewing and fireflies on hot summer evenings, experience an enchanting and serene walk along the path.
Participate in a traditional tea ceremony and learn about Japanese culture. Get to observe graceful and slow traditional tea-serving practice, from the cleansing of the tea utensils to the clockwise turns before you take a sip of your tea.
Walk around Gion, an entertainment district with maiko girls and geiko women. Deemed as a major hanamachi, take in the refined and elegant atmosphere of old times at Gion. Check out the old wooden buildings, tea houses, antique shops and many more.
