About London Lincoln's Inn

Considered the most well-preserved among the four London’s Inns of Court, Lincoln’s Inn is a warren of vintage gems: the heavy oak door and the coat of arms, placed above the arch of the Chancery Lane gatehouse dates from the time of Henry VIII. The chapel, on the other hand, is of early 17th-century Gothic design. Bard and Shakespeare’s contemporary Ben Jonson, too, is believed to have also laid some of its brick during the Elizabethan period. Among the famous alumni of Lincoln’s Inn are Oliver Cromwell, John Donne, and Pennsylvania founder William Penn.
