What To Expect
Classic London is our most popular tour of central London, covering the classic sights that light up the capital's skyline from Westminster to the City of London.
Your journey starts from our riverside cycle hire center at Gabriel's Wharf, conveniently located a stone's throw away from Waterloo station.
Once equipped with a bike, your guide will lead you past the bustling Southbank, the cultural center of London harboring the impressive London Eye, to a photo opportunity with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.
Further along the river, you'll reach Lambeth Palace, a beautiful Tudor building that's the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Crossing the Thames now, you'll enter the tranquil courtyard of Westminster School, where you can enjoy a secret view of Westminster Abbey before heading off to see Buckingham Palace - via St James' Park - in time to catch the Changing of the Guard*. If you're in luck, the royal standard flag will be raised and you may catch a glimpse of the Queen as she takes up residence in her 'office'.
From here it's straight to Trafalgar Square to see the towering statue of Lord Nelson guarded by bronze lions not far from elegant fountains.
Next you'll head to the cobbled streets of Covent Garden, an area renowned for its high-quality restaurants and lively street performers.
Then it's time to head towards London's oldest quarter as we enter the heart of the legal district and make our way past Lincoln's Inn Fields and follow the old cattle routes to Smithfield Market, where we hear of its turbulent past and gruesome medieval history.
A pedal ride later and you're at the penultimate stop, taking a moment to admire St Paul's Cathedral before crossing over Blackfriars Bridge and heading back to the wharf.
Sights you'll see:
The London Eye
The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben
St James' Park
The Changing of the Guard (on days when scheduled)*
