The heart of El pueblo welcomes you to a historic square, the site of many festivals like Dia de los Muertos (November), Las Posadas (before Christmas), and Cinco de Mayo. On the plaza, you will see the Kiosko, a hexagonal bandstand made of wrought iron, statues of LA’s founders including Spanish governor Felipe de Neve and Spanish King Carlos III, a historical plaque, and several fig trees, the shade of which is very welcome after all that exploring.
