What To Expect
We will pick you up from your hotel in Luxor and cross the Nile River to the West Bank, where you'll visit the necropolis of the ancient city of Thebes. After arriving at the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of the kings of Thebes (ancient Luxor), behold the magnificent tombs carved deep into the desert rock, richly decorated and filled with treasures for the afterlife of the pharaohs (you will visit 3 tombs). Learn about the Pharaohs sacred religion, funerary art, customs, and myths.
Then take a short drive to Hatshepsut Temple. It was built for the great Queen Hatshepsut (18th Dynasty), to commemorate her achievements and to serve as her funerary temple, as well as a sanctuary of the God, Amon Ra. It has the distinction of being the temple of the only Pharaonic woman who reigned in ancient Egypt for almost 19 years as the daughter of Thutmose I. Returning to Luxor, there will be time for a brief photo stop at the Colossi of Memnon, which marks the site of the funerary temple of Amenhotep III.
After the tour ends, you will be taken back to your hotel in Luxor.
