What To Expect
Day 1 (Wednesday) MADRID - TRUJILLO - LISBON
Departure at 08:30 a.m., Drive Westbound towards Extremadura region, a relaxing drive to Trujillo, hometown of many discoverers of the new world. Time free to know its beautiful Plaza Mayor. Continue on through Portuguese soil along the Alentejo plains. Arrive over the impressive bridge 25th April to Lisbon. Capital city of Portugal. Optional night tour to attend a show of Fado (typical Portuguese songs and music).
Day 2 (Thursday) LISBON
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo, drive through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoveries, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue and the Alfama quarter. You can spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 (Friday) LISBON - OBIDOS - ALCOBAZA - NAZARE - BATALHA - FATIMA
Breakfast at the hotel. We will drive northland and arrive at our first point of interest: the beautiful walled town of Obidos with its picturesque streets and the Pousada do Castelo. We will then travel on to Alcobaça to visit a 12th century church containing the tombs of Pedro and Inês de Castro. For lunch, we will go to Nazare - the most colorful of Portuguese fishing villages. If possible, we will then travel on to the Sitio to have a panoramic view of the beach and the village. In the afternoon we will visit the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of the Gothic and Manueline style considered a heritage of humanity by UNESCO. Continue to Fatima.
Day 4 (Saturday) FATIMA - LISBON
After breakfast at the hotel, the day is at your disposal for activities of a personal nature in Fátima. This city is a center of Christian faith and world pilgrimage. Visit the church where the tombstones of Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco are, as well as the Chapel of Apparitions, heart of the shrine. You will have time to attend a mass. At the end of the day we will return to Lisbon through the colorful farming region.
Day 5 (Sunday) LISBON - CACERES - CORDOBA
Breakfast and departure at 07:30 hrs. to Caceres (World Heritage City) because of the city's blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. We will walk through its Plaza Mayor and the Old Town with its Medieval Quarter. Continue to Cordoba capital of the Caliphate in the past.
Day 6 (Monday) CORDOBA - SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. City tour including its impressive Mosque today a Cathedral and its Jewish Quarter. Continue on towards Seville. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 7 (Tuesday) SEVILLE
Breakfast at the hotel. Monumental and panoramic city tour (Cathedral from outside, Santa Cruz Quarter, Maria Luisa Gardens). Afternoon at leisure for you to discover exclusive views. Optional Flamenco tour in Seville. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 8 (Wednesday) SEVILLE - COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ronda. Time at leisure to admire this town of Celtic origin and the marvelous view of the valley and mountain range. Continuation to Costa del Sol. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 9 (Thursday) COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast at the hotel. Whole day at leisure. Optional tours. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 10 (Friday) COSTAL DEL SOL - TARIFA - TANGIER - RABAT - CASABLANCA
After breakfast, depart for a drive along the picturesque route of Costa del Sol to Tarifa. En route, we'll pass by internationally renowned places such as Marbella and Puerto Banus. Upon arrival in Tarifa, board the ferry boat to cross the strait of Gibraltar towards Africa. Disembark at Tangier and clear customs. Afterwards, drive south via Larache to Rabat, the diplomatic and administrative capital and the official residence of King Mohamed VI. We'll proceed for a city tour in Rabat, stopping by important sights such as an external visit to the Palace, Mohamed V Mausoleum and the unfinished Hassan Tower. Next, we'll continue to Casablanca, an industrial and economic capital and most populated city, Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 11 (Saturday) CASABLANCA - MARRAKECH
Breakfast at the hotel. Casablanca, business capital of the country. Panoramic city tour through the most interesting sections of the city. Continuation to Marrakech. Optional Dinner & show at the Chez Ali Fantasia. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 12 (Sunday) MARRAKECH - MEKNES - FEZ
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the South capital, which is located within an extensive oasis between the Atlas Mountains and the pre-deserted area, including the Koutoubia Tower, twin tower of the Giralda in Seville, Saadines Tombs and Bay Palace and Dejna El Fna Square, which is packed with fortune tellers, snake tamers, acrobats, dancers etc. Drive towards the ancient and imperial city of Meknes. Short panoramic city tour. The Hedine Square and the great Mansour Gate. Continuation to Fez. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 13 (Monday) FEZ
Breakfast at the hotel. City tour of Fez, the most ancient of the Imperial Cities of Morocco, visiting the more interesting points of the city: the Royal Palace, Christian and Jewish Quarter and the Medina (Old City), declared Patrimony of the Humanity. Lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Optional dinner & show. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 14 (Tuesday) FEZ - TANGIER - TARIFA - COSTA DEL SOL
After breakfast we will head to Tangier where we'll transfer to the pier and board the ferry to return across the strait of Gibraltar back to Spain. Disembark and continue to Costa del Sol where the tour ends. Dinner and accommodation at the hotel.
Day 15 (Wednesday) COSTA DEL SOL
Breakfast, dinner and accommodation. Whole day at leisure. Optional tours.
Day 16 (Thursday) COSTA DEL SOL - GRANADA
Breakfast. Departure to Granada. Visit of La Alhambra and Generalife Gardens, the last stronghold of the Moorish Kingdoms up to 1492, an amazing monumental environment. Dinner and accommodation. Optional Flamenco Show in a Gipsy Zambra at the Sacromonte square.
Day 17 (Friday) GRANADA - TOLEDO - MADRID
Breakfast. Departure towards the Imperial City of Toledo (World Heritage city), where the three cultures of Spain (Christians, Moorish and Jewish) have lived together. Interesting tour of the most important city monuments, its narrow streets and the famous Damasquinado (gold and silver inlaying in iron). Continue to Madrid.
