What To Expect
Journey to Granada and enter the palaces of the Moorish kings in the Alhambra, whose grand palace still stands strong even after the Reconquista and the wear and tear of centuries! First, we depart by bus from Malaga to the Alhambra, with its Nasrid palaces full of ornamentation and elegance. Inside you will find a labyrinthine treasure trove of courtyards, walls covered in intricate mosaics and carvings, fountains and gardens. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for its excellent preservation of Mudejar art and architecture, with innovations unheard of during its time and beauty unparalleled until present day.
Sites in the area include the palace of Charles V, a structure that was never finished but still imposing in its Roman style and massiveness. Stroll by the lovely Generalife gardens, a green paradise constructed for kings which is now open to the public. Feel like you're retreating into a world of peace away from all the cares of daily life, with its ethereal fountains, ponds, flower beds and statues.
Afterwards, go on a train tour to the city center of Granada, which encompasses all manner of sites relevant to its architecture, history, culture and art! Start your journey in the Alhambra forest, then continue to the Puerta de la Justicia and Plaza Nueva, which despite its names is the oldest square in Granada. Afterwards go to the Granada Cathedral and Royal Chapel, where you can witness splendor of the Catholic monarchs who overthrew the majesty of the Moors. Finally hop to your heart's content in the main shopping district, containing Calle Alhondiga, Calle Recogida, Plaza Mariana Pineda and Calle Molinos, then we will take you back to the Alhambra.
