Enjoy an enriching archaeological tour around Manama and visit some of the most important sites in the city!
After being picked up from your hotel, explore the historic and imposing 3000 BC Bahrain Fort. Walking through battlement areas, learn more about the country's ancient secrets from your local guide. You will also visit the main tower, corridors and a vantage point over the excavation site of an ancient courtyard.
Continue to Barbar Temple, one of the most remarkable architectural survivals of the ancient world. This archaeological site, located in the North-western village of Barbar in Bahrain, is considered to be part of the Ancient Dilmun culture. The archaeologists found three temples built on top of each other belonging to different eras.
After the temple visit, proceed to the Saar Ancient Settlement which is located on the northwest part of the island of Bahrain, near the center of the Persian Gulf. Then, see the Saar Burial Complex, which houses a large number of interconnecting graves, a type of burial unique to the country.
Lastly, venture to the Dilmun Burial Mounds. These archaeological mounds are of great historical importance going back to the Dilmun civilization in the third millennium BC.
