What To Expect
Experience the taste of Filipino culture and know more about its rich history as you join this three and a half hour tour of Makati, the Philippines' financial and commercial hub.
After being picked up from you hotel, pass by Nielson Tower, a two-story concrete structure designed to resemble an airplane from a bird's-eye-view. The building served as a control tower and a passenger depot of the Philippines' first commercial airport. Then, explore the Saints Peter and Paul Parish, the first and oldest church in Makati. Tucked away in a narrow side street off the main road, see the images of the first pope and the local patron saint dominating the facade of the intricately designed Spanish-style church.
We will then stop at the Nuestra Señora de Gracia Church. This 400-year old church, also known as the Guadalupe Church, was founded by Augustinian friars in 1601 and was constructed with a style reminiscent to the late Spanish Renaissance and early Baroque architecture.
Departing from Guadalupe, proceed to the American Cemetery and Memorial, a 152-acre cemetery on a prominent plateau where the largest number of armed forces of WWII is buried. Visit the chapel which houses 25 mosaic maps which recalls the achievements of the American armed forces in the Pacific, China, India and Burma.
Our tour ends at the Ayala Center where guests have the option to take an optional tour of the Ayala Museum and the Filipinas Heritage Library, or spend the rest of their time exploring Ayala Center - a commercial complex at par with the world's best.
