What To Expect
Through the Crau Plain, you will go to the Grand Rhône River bank where stands the ancient city of Arles (UNESCO World Heritage). Following the footsteps of Van Gogh, you will discover the Roman vestiges with the Colosseum and the ancient theater, the Saint Trophime Church (a carved portal of 12th century), the Forum Square where you'll find the statue of the Provencal poet Frédéric Mistral as well as Van Gogh's bridge, the hotel Dieu (a former hospital) and Van Gogh's Café.
Later, on the road that leads you to Les Baux de Provence, you will have a stopover in the Abbey of Montmajour and at the Mill of Daudet, a famous place where Alphonse Daudet found inspiration to write his letters. You will have time for lunch (at own expense) on the perched village of Les Baux de Provence. Later that afternoon, in the Baux Valley well known for its olive trees, you will visit an olive property before continuing through the Alpilles mountains to Saint Rémy de Provence to discover its antiques.
