Start the tour with a visit of the Museum of Anthropology where you can admire some of the pieces of the vast pre-Hispanic art collection the museum holds. Then, discover the center and more precisely the Zocalo, which was once the capital of the Aztec empire, "La Gran Tenochtitlan". Nowadays, it is usually called Plaza de la Constitucion, and it is one of the largest city squares in the world. This a very bustling place where Aztec Indians perform. Walk through some of its busy streets downtown and visit some of its buildings like the Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest cathedral in the Americas, which possesses a breathtaking architecture. At the end of this visit, you will enjoy some free time.
Finally, stop at the National Palace, the seat of the federal executive in Mexico. Admire its stairwell, the murals of the famous Diego Rivera 'The Epic of the Mexican People'. Go to Fine Arts Palace and drive along Paseo de la Reforma heading towards two of the most representative neighborhoods of the modern history of the city: Roma and Condesa. On this avenue there are several monumental sculptures which allow you to witness the different events that shaped the city and built its identity, such as "The Angel of Independence" icon of the city , "La Diana Cazadora" and the latest creation "La columna del Bicentenario".
