The Montevideo Port is the main trading port in Uruguay and was opened in 1889. It is located on the Rio de La Plata, on the bay of Montevideo, which is a very important area for cargo traffic in the Mercosur area. This stop is the more convenient to hop on or hop off the bus for people arriving from or departing to Buenos Aires.

The Independencia Square is the heart of Montevideo. Observe the monument of Jose Gervasio Artigas, the father of Uruguayan nationhood and access its underground mausoleum. Take great pictures in front of the fountains and pretty grass areas of the square. Go to the west to the Ciudadela Gate, a proof of Montevideo's colonial style and explore the Sarandi pedestrian area.
