The Kolomenskoye Estate Private Tour

Our tour guide was fantastic. . . knowledgeable about the subject matter but also very generous in sharing other information from curious travellers about Russia today. Despite -12 degrees walking around the site it was all worth it. ...Rodney H., Australia – See more reviews

Description

See Kolomenskoe as it features medieval churches dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries (1500s and 1600s), one is devoted for the birth of Ivan the Terrible, stone chambers with clock tower, some wooden huts (1700s) - among them the house of Peter the Great - a brilliant example of Northern Russian architecture (moved on from Archangelsk), gardens planted in the middle of the 17-th century, oaks whose age is about 400 years and other fascinating sights.

Majestic royal estate, panoramic views of the river and banks, outlines of old monasteries, pre-historical mysterious stones at the foot of the hill are also in sight.

The estate is nestled on the steep west bank of the Moscow River, 10 kilometers southeast of the Kremlin and surrounded by 390 hectares of ancient forest land, which is now a conservation zone and one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites.

Separately, the are other neighborhoods, that's a wooden palace of Russian tsars (reconstruction for the mid 1600s) with old Russian tiling and icon exposition, and a reconstructed street of typical Russian village (the 1800s). Behind every boulder or a piece of log lie many good stories.

Full day in Kolomenskoye with visiting a wooden palace of Russian tsars (reconstruction for the mid 1600s) with old Russian tiling and icon exposition, and a reconstructed street of typical Russian village (the 1800s).
